8 Preparing for image acquisition
Exposure readiness is then also indicated on the USB X-
ray box.
In addition to the green signal LED (3), the yellow Ready
LED (4) now also lights up.
i
NOTE
When the LEDs start flashing, the unit can be set to ex-
posure readiness for another 30 minutes. A charging cy-
cle should then be started as soon as possible.
Position the sensor and holder in the patient's
mouth.
Bring the intraoral X-ray unit into position.
i
NOTE
Before taking an exposure, check to make sure that the
yellow Ready LED (4) is illuminated.
5sec before the end of the ready to expose period an au-
dible alarm is emitted by the PC.
Take an X-ray exposure (observe "Exposure param-
eters" on page 30).
ATTENTION
Do not run any other programs while taking an X-ray ex-
posure, in order to maximize the total PC resources
available to the software.
ATTENTION
If the storage batteries are low, the ready to expose peri-
od may be aborted earlier. Avoid long ready to expose
periods. Recharge the storage batteries by connecting
the PC or the external power supply unit (optional).
If an external power supply is used, operation is also pos-
sible when the batteries are discharged or removed (as
of serial no. 2001).
When the USB X-ray Box is used with a laptop, it must be
ensured that the storage batteries for the laptop are ade-
quately charged. The USB X-ray Box should not be used
with a battery-operated PC if the battery level of the PC is
low. To check this, observe the corresponding message
from the operating system of the laptop.
On completion of the X-ray exposure, remove the
sensor and holder from the patient's mouth.
Remove the disposable covers and disinfect the
sensor, if necessary.
Continue with image processing.
