Installation of the additional protective ground wire

NOTE
The illustration is a case example.
•
Quit all the programs that are running. Shut down
the PC and all the peripheral units connected to it.

Pull out the power cord.
•
Put on an ESD wrist band or discharge your body by
touching the equipotential bonding conductor.
1. Undo the screws of the PC casing (see the PC oper-

ator's manual) and remove the cover of the PC.
2. Search for a place on the back side of the metal cas-
ing frame that is easily accessible both from the in-
side and outside.
Drill a hole for an M4 screw.
ATTENTION
Do not let any chips drop inside the PC.
Do not damage any parts of the PC!
3. Remove any paint around the drill hole to achieve a
decent metal contact.
Fasten the enclosed connecting screw with a tooth
lock washer and nut.
4. Fasten the protective ground wire with a screw, as
shown.
5.
Affix the enclosed sticker next to the protective
ground wire connection.
•
Connect the protective ground wire to the equipoten-
tial bonding connector.
