Fuel (fig. 3a, 3b)
The fuel is an oil-mixed petrol (gas), 2% or 1 part oil
to 50 parts petrol (gas). Always use good quality un-
leaded or leaded petrol (gas).
The machine must be in the vertical position when fill-
ing fuel (see fig. 3a). If not, it is possible due to the
movement of the fuel within the tank to have fuel at a
higher level than the tank cap, which can lead to a
spillage of fuel if the tank cap is opened. This can be
avoided by opening the tank cap, only when the ma-

chine is tilted and the tank cap is at the fuel tanks
highest point (see fig 3b).
Before transport, or long term storage, empty fuel
tank.
Two-stroke oil
For the best results always use Atlas Copco's bio-
degradable two-stroke oil, which has been specially
developed for Atlas Copco two-stroke engines. If
Atlas Copco two-stroke oil is not available then use
a two-stroke oil of good quality intended for air
cooled two-stroke engines. Contact your nearest
Atlas Copco dealer for a recommendation of two-
stroke oils.
Mixing
Always mix the petrol (gas) and oil in a clean con-
tainer intended for fuel. Always pour the two-stroke
oil into the container first and then fill the container
with the correct amount of petrol (gas). Mix (shake)
the fuel mixture thoroughly before refuelling the ma-
chine.
NOTE: Petrol (gas) mixtures can separate/age so
do not mix more than a two weeks supply of fuel at
any one time.
Hammer mechanism oil-level (fig. 4)
The machine has a natural oil consumption and it is
thus important to check the oil-level in the ham-
mer mechanism every time you refuel the ma-
chine.
The machine must be in an upright position when
the oil is checked. The oil-level should be flush with
the plug.
Use only diesel-engine oil type
SAE 15W/40, API:CD.
Fitting the tool (fig. 5)
Check with the shank gauge that the tool has cor-
rect dimensions. The shank must be clean and in
good condition.
Tool chuck
If the chuck gauge can be fully inserted between
the flats in the chuck, it is worn and must be re-
placed.
Always stop the machine before fitting a tool.
Insert tool in chuck and close the latch.
