turn it on and off.
•
Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with
grounded surfaces. For example, pipes, radiators, ranges,
refrigerator enclosures.
•
Replacement parts. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts.
•
Polarized plugs. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this
equipment has a polarized plug (one blade is wider then the
other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet.
•
Voltage warning: Before connecting the tool to a power
source (receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage supplied is
the same as that specified on the nameplate of the tool. A
power source with voltage greater than that specified for the
tool can result in SERIOUS INJURY to the user - as well as
damage to the tool. If in doubt, DO NOT PLUG IN THE
TOOL. Using a power source with voltage less than the name-
plate rating is harmful to the motor.

Tool service must be performed by qualified repair person-
nel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified person-
nel could result in a risk of injury.
•
When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement
parts. follow instructions in the maintenance section of
this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow

injury.

Always install, operate, inspect and maintain this product
in accordance with all applicable standards and regula-
tions (local, state, country, federal, etc.). Failure to follow
standards and regulations can cause personal injury.

Ensure an accessible emergency electric power shut off has
been installed, and make others aware of its location. In the
event of an accident, this shut off may minimize personal
injury.

Do not remove any labels. Replace any damaged label.
Labels provide information required for safe use of the prod-
uct.

Prevent exposure and breathing of harmful dust and parti-
cles created by power tool use. Some dust created by power
sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction
activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth
defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these
chemicals are:
- lead from lead based paints,
- crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other
masonry products, and
- arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.

approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are

Be aware of buried, hidden or other hazards in your work
environment. Do not contact or damage cords, conduits, pipes
or hoses that may contain electrical wires, explosive gases or
harmful liquids
•
Stop using any tool if discomfort, tingling feeling or pain
occurs. Vibration, repetitive motions or uncomfortable posi-
tions may be harmful to your hands and arms. Power tools can
vibrate in use. Seek medical advice before resuming use.
•
Avoid contact with moving parts of tool. Tool and/or acces-
sories may briefly continue their motion after power is
removed creating a risk of entanglement or other personal
injury.
•
Do not modify this tool, safety devices, or accessories.
Unauthorized modifications may result in electric shock, fire
or personal injury.
•
Do not use this tool for purposes other than those recom-
mended. Personal injury may result.
•
Always use Personal Protective Equipment appropriate to
the tool used and material worked. This may include dust
mask or other breathing apparatus, safety glasses, ear plugs,
gloves, apron, safety shoes, hard hat and other equipment.
•
Keep clear of the inserted tool & maintain a balanced and
firm stance. The inserted tool may break in use.
•
Always use appropriate retainer, latch or sleeve, in addi-
tion to proper barriers. This will protect persons in sur-
rounding or lower areas from possible ejected accessories.
•
Never operate a Percussion Tool unless an accessory is
properly installed and the tool is held firmly against the
work. This eliminates the ejection of inserted tools and the
possibility of tool damage.
•
Only operate the switch lever by hand. Keep hands away
from the switch lever until it is time to operate the tool. This
provides control of the tool and its operation and eliminates
unexpected starting.
•
Never rest the tool or chisel on your foot. Accidental starting
may cause injury.
•
Never point the tool at anyone. Accidental staring or tool
ejection may cause serious injury.
•
Do not touch the bit or parts close to the bit immediately
after operation; they may be extremely hot and could burn
your skin.
•
Under normal operation, the tool is designed to produce
vibration. The screws can come loose easily, causing a break-
down or accident. Check tightness of screws carefully before
operation.
•
Hold the tool firmly with both hands. This provides control
of the tool and its operation.
