DRIVE AND PROPELLER SHAFTS

1) Visually inspect the shafts, looking for grooved
wear on the surface in contact with the bearings
and oil-seals, and looking for wear on the
splines. Replace if worn or damaged.

DRIVE SHAFT SLEEVE

1) Visually inspect the sleeve for wear and cracks.
If any damage is found, replace the sleeve.

SHIFT-PLUNGER, SHIFT-SHAFT, AND BOOT

1) Inspect the shift-plunger for signs of wear or
damage, looking particularly for denting of the
contact surface, and replace if required.
2) Inspect the shift-rod boot for breakage or dam-
age, and replace the boot if damage is found.
