Setting bevel angle
WARNING
Risk of injury if inclination mechanism for bevel cut not latched. If the adjuster of the bevel angle is not
latched the saw head can tilt while cutting is in progress, leading to kickback.
▶ After adjusting, always push the release lever of the bevel angle fully down to latch the inclination
mechanism.
CAUTION
Risk of injury by top miter fences. When set for a bevel angle cut, the saw blade can collide with the top
miter fences, leading to damage and kickback.
▶ After setting the bevel angle for a bevel cut, always check that the saw blade has clearance and set the
top miter fences as far out as necessary.
For quick, accurate selection of the commonly used bevel angles, the saw head can be latched at any of
several positions.
Detent positions, bevel angle
Left
45°; 33.9°; 22.5°
▶ Pull the release lever of the bevel angle adjuster up to disengage it (2).
▶ Pull the release lever of the vertical angle adjuster fully up so that the saw head can be moved freely (3).
▶ Let go of the release lever and tilt the saw head until the latching mechanism engages.
▶ The saw head can be latched at any of the positions stated above.
▶ Then push the release lever fully down (1) to lock the saw head at the set position.
▶ If you want to freely select a bevel angle, hold the release lever of the bevel angle adjuster in the topmost
position (3) until you have reached the desired bevel angle.
▶ Then push the release lever fully down (1) to lock the saw head at the set position.
▶ Set the top miter fences to a position where they cannot collide with the saw blade. → page 14

Activating cutting line indicator
The saw has a cutting line indicator. An LED in the saw head illuminates the work area and creates a shadow
cast by the saw blade that precisely indicates the cutting line.
1. Activate the on / off switch without pressing the switch-on interlock.
▶ The LED is activated.
2. Guide the saw head down.
▶ The shadow of the saw blade appears on the workpiece and shows the cutting line.
3. If necessary, adjust the workpiece or the setting for the miter angle and/or bevel angle to match the
cutting line.

Positioning and securing workpiece 12, 13,
WARNING
Risk of injury due to twisted wood. A twisted and/or bowed workpiece can skew against the saw blade
and lead to kickback.
▶ Always position twisted or bowed workpieces with the outward curving side against the miter fence.
Never position a workpiece in such a way that a gap is produced between workpiece and miter fences.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to incorrect positioning of the workpiece. An incorrectly positioned workpiece can
skew against the saw blade and lead to kickback.
▶ Always position the workpiece such that it is seated with the largest possible contact surface on the
turntable, the supports and the miter fences.
