9.6 Work lamp operation (Fig. 4)
• Press the on/off switch (19) to switch the work lamp
(18) on and off.
9.7 Working with the flexible shaft (Fig. 26-28)
• Remove the protective cover (38) (Fig. 26).
• Place the flexible shaft (37) on the connection point
(39) and screw in tight. (fig. 27)
• Tension the tool in the chuck (D 3.2 mm).
• Hold the flexible shaft by the handle and adjust the
speed control as described under (9.2 / 9.9).
• After finishing the work, remove the flexible shaft
again and unscrew the protective cover (38) again.
• Attention: When working with the flexible shaft,
cover the saw blade with the blade guard (5).
9.8 ON/OFF switch (15) (Fig. 2)
• Switching on: Press the green "I" button.
• Switching off: Press the red "0" button.
The machine is equipped with an indicator light (43)
which shows the operating status.
Operating status "ON": Indicator light (43) illuminated
Operating status "OFF": Indicator light (43) no longer
illuminated.
ATTENTION
The machine is equipped with a safety switch against
reactivation if the voltage drops.
If the scroll saw is switched on and the power supply in
the mains is interrupted, the scroll saw remains switched
off, even if the power supply is re-established. Press the
"I" button to switch it on.
9.9 Operating modes (Fig. 1, 2)
The scroll saw is able to be operated manually or
via the foot pedal (42). The selector switch (41)
is used to select between the operating modes.
Attention! Always switch over the operating mode with
the machine switched off.
• Selector switch position "-": Stop position
• Selector switch position "I": Manual control via
speed regulator (16).
• Selector switch position "II": Foot pedal controls.
9.9.1 Manual controls

Ensure that the machine is switched on.
2.
Set the operating mode selection switch (41) to the
"I" position to operate the saw manually.
3.
Use the speed regulator (16) to set the appropriate
stroke rate for the material (see 9.2).
9.9.2 Foot pedal controls
1.
Ensure that the machine is switched on.
2.
Set the operating mode selection switch (41) to the
"II" position to operate the saw via the foot pedal (42).
CAUTION
The machine may start up automatically due to unin-
tentional actuation of the foot pedal (42) in operating
mode II "Foot pedal control".
CAUTION
When changing from operating mode II "Foot pedal
control" to operating mode I "Manual control", the ma-
chine starts automatically. The stroke rate corresponds
with the stroke rate set on the speed regulator (16).
9.9.3 Stop position
If the operating mode selection switch (41) is set to the
"-" position (stop position), the machine stops.
CAUTION
The machine is not switched off in this position.
10. Electrical connection
The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies with
the applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the
extension cable used must also comply with these
regulations.
