Interruption of ride – Switching-off the vehicle
6.2.2 » Test Failed «
If the measured breath-alcohol concentration is above the set limit

value, the display shows » Test Failed « followed by » Temporary
Lockout « with a counter which shows the remaining disabled
hours, minutes and seconds. The red lamp is lit.
After a subsequent intermediate phase indicated by » Warming Up

PLEASE WAIT «, the display shows » Ready for Test PLEASE
BLOW « requesting a further breath sample.
7 Interruption of ride – Switching-off the
vehicle
As long as the ignition of the vehicle is switched on after a

successful breath test, the instrument is in the stand-by mode.
This is shown by the display » Drive Safely ! «.
When the ignition of the vehicle has been switched off or when the

vehicle has not been started after a successful breath test, a
restart period (see page 31) starts. During this time the vehicle can
be started without a new breath alcohol test being required. The
display shows » Free start timer: « and a timer of the remaining
time for starting the vehicle.
When this time of the restart period has ended, the instrument is

switched off. The Dräger Interlock XT remains switched off until it
is activated again by turning on the ignition.
NOTICE

If the restart period runs out, a new breath test must be given
before the vehicle can be restarted.

8 Retests
CAUTION
!
For safety reasons and certain road laws, the vehicle should
be parked off the road, away from traffic in safe position
before presenting the retest.
To make sure the driver stays sober while driving, the instrument
requires additional breath tests while driving (optional).
When the instrument prompts a retest, it makes a beeping sound,

the yellow lamp flashes and the display shows » Retest required
PLEASE BLOW «.
1. Perform the breath test exactly as when starting the vehicle.
2. When the display shows » Test Passed «, put the instrument back
on the holster and continue driving.
The message » Drive Safely ! « returns to the display.

NOTICE

There are (depending on instrument settings) several
minutes to deliver the retest.
