Position piston number 1 at the top dead cen-
ter of the compression stroke, so that both inlet
and exhaust valves are closed.
Note: Always make the motor turn into
its normal operation direction. To po-
sition the piston correctly, use a piston
position gauge.
Screw the hose with 14mm connector into the
spark plug socket.
Note: If you need another size, you can use the
10 o 12mm adaptors. Do not connect the tester
until it has been calibrated.
Pull down the pressure regulating valve.
Turn the regulator completely to the
left.
Connect a pressurized air hose to the tester.
Note: Adjust the air pressure at 45 to 100PSI.
Warning! Ensure the air supply is clean and
does not exceed the pressure quoted. Too
high air pressure and/or unclean air will shor-
ten the life of the tester due to excessive wear.
Also, it may be dangerous, causing damage
and/or personal injury.
Air pressure should be increased if you use un-
usually long air hoses (over 8 meters). The mini-
mum bore for hose and fittings is 1/4".
Turn the regulator to the right.
Check the position of the needle in the right
gauge.
Keep turning the regulator knob until the
needle reaches 0 at the end of the "SET" band.
Note: It should happen when the pressure is 15
to 20PSI.
Press the regulator knob from the bottom to
lock it.
Connect the hose to the tester.
After connecting the hose, the needle of the
cylinder leakage indicator gauge will show the
percentage of pressure loss.
