3.1.
GROUPED SAFETY MESSAGES
Electrically live components
Risk of fatal electric shock.
» Measure only clean tools in clean chucks.
» Avoid penetration by metal chips.
» Do not use when the housing is open.
» Repairs only by Hoffmann Group Customer Service.
» If power cables or sockets are damaged, do not continue to use
the device.
» Before starting any installation, cleaning or maintenance work,
disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
» Do not drive over cables, pinch them, crush them or put them un-
der strain in any other way.
» To unplug the unit from power sockets, always pull the plug and
never the cable.
» Do not operate, plug in or withdraw devices with wet or moist
hands.
» Do not store liquids in the vicinity of electrically live components.
Falling tools and sharp edges
Crush hazard and laceration hazard for the hands and feet.

INTENDED USE
For measuring and pre-setting tool geometries on machine tools
and production islands.
For use as a bench-top device.
For industrial use.
Use only on a flat and clean base.
Measure only clean tools in clean chucks.
Use only original spare parts and wearing parts.
For measurement of SK 50 tools use a suitable calibration man-
drel (Article no. 355105).
Use only when correctly mounted and with safety devices and
guards on the machine operational.

3.3.
REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE
Do not clamp in the optical unit of the camera.
Not for use in areas where high concentrations of dust, flam-
mable gases, vapours or solvents are present.
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Do not make any unauthorised changes or modifications.
Not for use where there is exposure to intense heat, direct sun-
light, naked flames or liquids.

DUTIES OF THE OPERATING COMPANY
Ensure that all the work listed below is performed only by qualified

The operating company must ensure that personnel who work on
the product comply with the regulations and provisions together
with the following instructions:
National and regional regulations for safety, accident prevention
and environmental protection regulations.
No damaged products are assembled, installed or commis-
sioned.
The necessary protective equipment is provided.
For operation only by trained and instructed personnel.
Provide protection at hazard points.
3.5.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Comply with the national and regional regulations for safety and ac-
cident prevention. Select and provide protective work wear such as
safety shoes and safety gloves appropriate for the risks associated
with the intended activities.
3.6.
PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS
Specialists for mechanical work
Specialists in the sense of this documentation are persons who are
familiar with assembly work, mechanical installation, commission-
ing, troubleshooting and maintenance of the products and who
possess the following qualifications:
Qualification / training in the field of mechanics as specified in
the nationally applicable regulations.
Trained person
Trained persons in the sense of this documentation are persons
who have been trained to perform work in the areas of transport,
storage and operation.
