Sighting requirements
Observe the following:
● Ensure the mounting position is free from vibration or movement.
● Prevent accidental knocking or forcing out of alignment.
● Where snow or ice build-up is likely, the heater should be enabled.
● To ensure the best possible video image the detector should be facing away
from the sun.
● Install as far as possible from local electrical interference sources.
● Ensure sufficient detection to achieve adequate detection coverage for all
possible hazards.
● Minimise exposure to contamination of the detector face plate.
● Ensure ease of maintenance access to detector (i.e. direct, ladder or
scaffold access).
All these issues are of crucial importance to a successful installation, and they
should be given great attention during the detailed design, construction, and
commissioning phases of the work.

Electrical installation
When installing, the entire wiring must meet currently valid national regulations
regarding the installation of electrical devices, and – if necessary – the national
regulations regarding the installation in potentially explosive atmospheres. In
case of doubt, the official responsible authorities are to be consulted prior to
installation of the device.
Ensure that any power is switched off before connecting any cabling to the
flame detector. The connections are made in the rear terminal compartment
through suitably certified glands.
