• Remove the alkaline batteries/rechargeable battery pack before
disposing of the product.
• Never leave alkaline batteries/rechargeable battery packs and/
or any tools used to remove them within the reach of children.
• Never burn or dispose of old alkaline batteries/rechargeable
battery packs into the environment or with urban waste; dis-
pose of them at an appropriate differentiated collection point
according to the laws in force.
3.1 Replacing alkaline batteries on the child unit (with image
and sound transmitter function)
Use a fl at headed tool to remove the screws on the battery com-
partment panel (10) under the child unit (with image and sound
transmitter function) and remove the cover. Remove all 4 alka-
line batteries from the compartment and replace them with 4
identical 1.5 Volt AA batteries, making sure the poles are inserted
as indicated on the compartment. Replace the battery compart-
ment cover (10) and tighten the screw fi rmly.
3.2 Fitting the rechargeable battery pack inside the parent
unit (with image and sound receiver function) .
When you purchase the product, the rechargeable battery pack
(14) is not fi tted inside the parent unit (with image and sound
receiver function) and is packed separately inside the box.
Remove the rechargeable battery pack compartment cover (11)
on the back of the parent unit (with image and sound receiver
function).
Insert the rechargeable battery pack (14) supplied, making sure
the pole is in the right direction [the red line on the parent unit
must be aligned with the red line on the rechargeable battery
pack (14)]. Position the rechargeable battery pack (14) so that
the connector and cables connected to it are always below the
battery pack and are completely unravelled. Press the recharge-
able battery pack compartment cover (11) back into place.
3.3 Replacing the rechargeable battery pack inside the pa-
rent unit (with image and sound receiver function) .
Remove the rechargeable battery pack compartment cover (11)
behind the parent unit. Remove the rechargeable battery pack
(14), if dead, by gently removing the connector plug from the
parent unit and replace it with a rechargeable battery pack iden-
tical (14) to that supplied with the product i.e. NiMh 3.6V 1600
mAh (3x1.2V AA type), making sure the connection plug is con-
nected in the right direction. Press the rechargeable battery pack
compartment cover (11) back into place.
HOW TO CHECK THE RECEPTION SIGNAL
Place the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function)
suffi ciently far away from the child unit (with image and sound
transmitter function), so that it does not whistle (Larsen effect).
One adult should try speaking into the child unit, changing the
voice volume, while the other adult should check the parent unit
(with image and sound receiver function) to make sure it receives
the sound and image correctly.
Always check that both units are working wherever they are
placed.
TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE
- Place the child unit (with image and sound transmitter func-
tion) 1-2 metres away from the baby.
- To prevent annoying whistling (Larson effect) place the par-
ent unit (with image and sound receiver function) suffi ciently
far away from the child unit (with image and sound transmitter
function).
• Check reception regularly following the instructions illustrated
above.
• Adjust the volume to the desired level.
• If the sound or image quality deteriorates on the parent unit
during use, it may have reached the maximum reception range.
If this is the case, simply place the parent unit a little closer to
the child unit.
• Darken the room where the child unit (with image and sound
transmitter function) is placed to check that the photo-sensitive
sensor (9), which automatically enables night viewing, is working
properly.
