The backlit LCD display allows users to watch live images of the
child and view the following icons:
- rechargeable battery pack (14) charge status icon on the par-
ent unit;
- transmission signal status
- volume adjustment level;
For further information on the icons displayed, please refer to
paragraph "2.2.4 Backlit LCD Display" of this manual.

2. Description of the characteristics
2.1 Child Unit (with image and sound transmitter function)
2.1.1 Power:
Powered by switching mains adaptors 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz /
9V
, 600mA or 4 alkaline 1.5 V AA type batteries (not
included).
If powered by a mains adaptor (1):
- insert the adaptor plug (1) into the socket (11) on the side of
the unit.
- check that the voltage used by the electrical system corresponds
to that indicated on the mains adaptor (1) plate indicated above.
- plug the mains adaptor (1) into the mains socket.
Warning:
- The mains adaptor (1) cable can strangle children and must be
kept out of their reach at all times
- Inspect the mains adaptors (1) periodically; if the power cable
or the plastic parts are damaged, do not use them and contact a
qualifi ed expert.
- Never leave the adaptors (1) connected to the mains when
the devices are not in use and/or not connected to the adaptors
themselves.
2.1.2 Instructions for use – Switching on and Sound
Adjustments
The child unit (with image and sound transmitter function)
should be placed about 1 – 1.5 metres from the child, on a fl at and
stable surface or fi xed to wall using the relative slot (12), making
sure the microphone (6) is facing the child.
WARNING!
• Install the child unit in a secure place, where the child unit,
the mains adaptor (1) and the power cable ARE SAFELY OUT OF
CHILDREN'S REACH.
WARNING: danger of strangulation for the child and injury if the
child unit falls off the wall.
• If you decide to fi x the child unit to the wall using the slot (12),
make sure the screw is fi xed securely to the wall using a plastic
dowel.
• It is recommended to position the child unit so that, if it should
fall down, it can not come into contact with the child.
• If you decide to fi x the child unit to the wall, choose a well-aired
point away from all sources of heat.
• Never install the child unit directly above air vents or near
sources of heat; make sure it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

Press this button (2) to turn the child unit (with image and sound
transmitter function) ON. Do not press the button for longer
otherwise the child unit may not switch on. Press it again to turn
the child unit (with image and sound transmitter function) OFF.

• Nightlight ON/Off button (4)
Press this button (4) to turn the nightlight (3) ON.
press the button for longer otherwise the nightlight (3) may not
switch on. When the child unit (with image and sound transmit-
ter function) is alkaline battery-powered only, the night light (3)
switches off automatically after 5 minutes. If the child unit (with
image and sound transmitter function) is powered by the mains
adaptor (1), the night light (3) will remain ON until the button
(4) is pressed again.
2.1.3 Luminous operating status indicator
The power indicator LED (5) provides two different types of in-
formation.
• Baby control mode ON indicator: when the child unit (with im-
age and sound transmitter function) is ON, the power indicator
LED (5) is green.
• Low alkaline battery indicator: if the alkaline batteries fi tted in
the child unit run low, the LED indicator (5) will turn red.
2.2 Parent Unit (with image and sound receiver function):
2.2.1 Power

Warning:

2.2.2 User Instructions – Switching on and Adjustments

• Place the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function)
on a fl at and stable surface
• Connect the mains adaptor (1) to the external power socket
(13) (9V
, 600mA) on the parent unit (with image and
sound receiver function).
• Plug the mains adaptor (1) into a mains socket that is easily
accessible and near the unit.
WARNING: Only use the mains adaptors supplied with
the product, or exactly the same type with the same electrical
characteristics.
NOTE: When the parent unit (with image and sound re-
ceiver function) is powered via the mains adaptor (1) it recharges
the rechargeable battery pack (14). The parent unit (with image
and sound receiver function) can be used when powered by the
mains adaptor (1), without the rechargeable battery pack (14).
Powering the parent unit (with image and sound receiver
function) with the rechargeable battery pack (14) :
• Place the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function),
with the rechargeable battery pack (14) inserted, on a fl at and
stable surface.
