To recharge the rechargeable battery pack (14):
• Place the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function),
with the rechargeable battery pack (14) inserted, on a fl at and
stable surface.
• Connect the mains adaptor (1) to the external power socket (13)
(9V
, 600mA) on the parent unit (with image and sound
receiver function).
• Plug the mains adaptor (1) into a mains socket that is easily
accessible and near the unit.
The power indicator LED (5) – LED around the ON/OFF button
(2) – on the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function)
will turn orange to indicate recharging in process. The number of
bars inside the load status and rechargeable battery pack (14)
load status icon
displayed on the back-lit LCD display (10)
will simultaneously progressively increase from 1 to 3 (for further
information please refer to section "2.2.4 Backlit LCD Display" in
this manual). When the recharging process has been completed,
there will be 3 fi xed bars inside the above indicated icon
and the power indicator LED (5) – LED around the ON/OFF but-
ton (2) – which was previously orange, will now turn OFF is the
parent unit is switched OFF or it will turn green if the parent unit
is switched ON.
NOTE: It is recommended to recharge the parent unit
(with image and sound receiver function) for at least 12 hours.
WARNING!
• When using the parent unit, regularly check the charge status
and rechargeable battery pack charge status icon
display and the power indicator LED (5) – LED around the ON/
OFF button (2). If the colour of the power indicator LED (5)
changes from green to red, and the charge status and recharge-
able battery pack status icon
bars, the rechargeable battery pack has run low. If you wish to
continue using the device, it is recommended to recharge the
battery pack (14), otherwise the device will stop working.
NOTE: It is possible to reduce recharging times by switch-
ing the unit OFF.
Switching on, Using and Adjusting the unit:
- ON/OFF button on the parent unit (with image and sound re-
ceiver function) (2).
Press the ON/OFF button (2) for around 3 seconds to turn the
parent unit (with image and sound receiver function) ON. Do
not press the button for longer otherwise the parent unit may
not switch on. Press it again for around 3 seconds to turn the
parent unit OFF.
• Volume adjustment buttons (+) and (-) (3).
Press the +
- "+" button (3) once to increase the sound
by one level. Press and hold this button for more than 2 seconds
to increase the volume to the maximum level. Press the
+
- "-" button (3) once to decrease the sound by one
level. Press and hold this button for more than 2 seconds to de-
crease the volume to the minimum level.
The device has 10 volume levels. The factory default level is 5.
The unit will beep each time you increase or decrease the volume
level. When the volume reaches its maximum or minimum levels,
it will beep twice.
The device stores the selected volume level in its memory, and
will retain it when switched on and off in the future.
• Display brightness adjuster buttons -

Press the "+" button once to increase the brightness on the backlit
LCD display by one level. Press the "-" button once to decrease the
brightness on the backlit LCD display by one level.
The device has 8 brightness levels.
• Voice activation mode ON/OFF button
The parent unit (with image and sound receiver function) can oper-
ate in continual mode (OFF) or in voice activation mode (ON).
When the unit is operating in voice activation mode (ON), the or-
ange LED (9) around the voice activation mode ON/OFF button (8)
lights up: The image of the child is only transmitted in real time
when the microphone (6) picks up sounds/noise from the child unit
(primarily in transmitter mode); the loudspeaker (6) on the parent
unit (with image and sound receiver function) is then activated and
reproduces the sounds/noise transmitted by the child unit. When
no sound/noise is received for a short while, the backlit LCD display
(10) with the child's image will switch off and the loudspeaker (6)
on the parent unit (with image and sound receiver function) will
be deactivated.
The voice activation mode allows the parent unit to operate in
energy-saving mode.
The device stores the selected voice activation mode ON/OFF set-
ting in its memory, and will retain it when switched on and off in
the future.
• Portable option for the parent unit
The parent unit is fi tted with a belt clip (12) which means you can
carry it with you wherever you go.
2.2.3 Luminous and acoustic operating status indicator
The power indicator LED (5) - LED around the ON/OFF button (2)
provides three different types of information:
• Device ON indicator: when the parent unit (with image and sound
receiver function) is ON, the power indicator LED (5) is green.
• Rechargeable battery pack (14) low battery indicator: if the re-
chargeable battery pack (14) runs low, the power indicator LED (5)
will turn red, and the unit will warn the user by beeping once every
second; the black rechargeable battery pack (14) battery status
indicator on the parent unit backlit LCD display will turn red and
blink with no bars visible
If you wish to continue using the device, it is recommended to re-
charge the battery pack (14), otherwise the device will stop work-
ing.

When the recharging of the battery pack (14) starts, the device will
stop beeping, the rechargeable battery pack battery status icon will
be visible on the parent unit (with image and sound receiver func-
tion) backlit LCD display with the number of bars according to the
charge status of the rechargeable battery pack (14) and the power
indicator LED (5) - LED around the ON/OFF button (2) will change
from red to orange.
• Rechargeable battery pack charge status (14): when the recharg-
ing of the battery pack (14) starts, the power indicator LED (5)
- LED around the ON/OFF button (2) will turn orange. When the
rechargeable battery pack (14) has been fully recharged, the or-
ange power indicator LED (5) - LED around the ON/OFF button
(2) - will switch off if the parent unit has been recharged while
switched OFF, or will turn green if the parent unit has been re-
charged while switched ON.
Luminous LED indicator (4 orange LED) for noise/sound levels re-
ceived from the child unit. (7)
The 7 LED on the luminous indicator (4) indicate the intensity of
the sound/noise picked up by the microphone (6) on the child unit
(with image and sound transmitter function): they progressively
light up from the bottom towards the top, indicating the level of
sound/noise from minimum to maximum.
