ply and that the adaptor plug is compatible with the sockets on
your mains system.
- Connect the mains adaptors to easily accessible sockets within
reach of the device. Lay the adaptor cables to that they can not
be trodden on, they cannot get caught up in other objects or be
touched by children as this could endanger their safety (they
could trip or catch their neck in the wire).
-The mains adaptors, the child unit (with image and sound trans-
mitter function) and parent unit (with image and sound receiver
function) could feel warm to the touch when operating. This is
absolutely normal.
- Always disconnect the mains adaptors from the power sockets
when not in use.
- Alkaline batteries and rechargeable battery packs must only be
replaced by adults, using alkaline batteries or battery packs hav-
ing the same characteristics as those indicated in this manual.
- The child unit (with image and sound transmission function)
video-camera is fi tted with a photo sensor that automatically ac-
tivates the infrared LED, when the light level in the environment
decreases or when it is dark; this means the child can be viewed
in the dark. The child unit (with image and sound transmission
function) video-camera LEDs emit infrared rays at night which
can in no way endanger the child's health.
- As the child unit (with image and sound transmission func-
tion) video-camera LEDs do not emit a visible light, check they
are working properly by viewing the image transmitted when the
child unit is places in a dark room.
The child unit (with image and sound transmission function) vid-
eo-camera LEDs emit infrared rays that do not exceed the Class I
LEA required by EN Standard 60825-1.
WARNING!
It is however recommended to avoid direct viewing of the infra-
red rays with the naked eye or using optical devices.
WARNING!
TO PREVENT THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCKS, NEVER REMOVE
THE PROTECTION COVER ON THE BACK OF THE TRANSMITTER
AND PARTICULARLY THAT ON THE MAINS ADAPTORS. DO
NOT WET THE PRODUCT AND DO NOT EXPOSE IT TO DAMP
OR HUMID ENVIRONMENTS. NEVER ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE
PRODUCT. THIS CAN ENDANGER YOUR SAFETY AND WILL
INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY.
1. Confi guration & Characteristics
Control devices which use "Adaptive Frequency Hopping" tech-
nologies can be used as an auxiliary apparatus to monitor chil-
dren in domestic environments. This baby control comes with a
child unit (with image and sound transmitter function) and a par-
ent unit (with image and sound receiver function). Both devices
use "Adaptive Frequency Hopping" transmission technology
to establish wireless radio contact that transmits and receives
sound/noise.
1.1 System features
The main system features are:
• Visual and voice transmissions using a "Adaptive Frequency
Hopping" digital system.
• Operating range in open spaces without any obstacles of around
150 metres*.
• User-friendly units.
* The maximum operating distance is around 150 metres in an
open space without obstacles and fully charged batteries (this
range could be reduced considerably indoors according to the
environmental situations, the layout of walls and furniture, the
presence of metal structures, electromagnetic fi elds/disturbanc-
es of internal or external origin, reinforced concrete walls, when
rooms are located on different fl oors, or when the batteries are not
charged completely etc.)

1.3 Parent Unit (with image and sound receiver function).
Model 06653
1. Powered by switching mains adaptors 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz /
9V
, 600mA or rechargeable battery pack (14) NiMh, 3x1.2V,
1600 mAh, AA type (included).
Rechargeable battery pack recharger with switching mains adaptor
100-240V ~, 50/60Hz / 9V , 600mA.

(a) Green: unit ON and ready for normal use (b) red: rechargeable
battery pack (14) nearly run down (c) orange: rechargeable bat-
tery pack (14) charge status of the parent unit.
6. Integrated speaker to reproduce the sound/noise from the child's
room.
It also has the additional functions seen below:
a) Warning signal when contact is lost between the child unit and
the parent unit: it will continue to beep twice every second after 15
seconds if there is no connection when the unit is switched on, or if
the connection is lost. As soon as connection is re-established, the
alarm beep is silenced;
b) Rechargeable battery pack (14) low battery indicator function:
the alarm function beeps once every second. Recharge the re-
chargeable battery pack.
The alarm beep switches off as soon as the battery pack (14) re-
charge commences.
7. Luminous LED indicator (4 orange LED) for noise/sound levels
received from the child unit.
8. Voice activation mode ON/OFF button
The default setting when the unit is fi rst switched on is OFF. The se-
lected operating mode, using the relative button, remains enabled
when the unit is switched off and on.
9. Orange LED around the voice activation mode ON/OFF but-
ton: when the light is ON this indicates that the voice activation
mode is enabled; when it switches OFF this indicates there is con-
stant noise/sound transmitted from the child unit. The selected
operating mode remains enabled when the unit is switched off
and on.
