Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert
1. Insert the appropriate sieve insert (17, 21) into the porta昀椀lter (16).
2. To remove the sieve insert from the porta昀椀lter, use the cleaning needle (20) if necessary.
This can be slid between the porta昀椀lter and sieve insert to lever out the sieve insert.
Filling the Porta昀椀lter
1. Touch the 昀椀eld
2. Make sure that the bean container is inserted correctly (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter –
"Cleaning the Grinder") and is 昀椀lled with suf昀椀cient espresso beans (see the "Preparation of the
Device" chapter – "Adding Espresso Beans").

You can also add espresso powder that has already been ground to the porta昀椀lter.
Bear in mind that this can also be pressed down well with the tamper.
PLEASE NOTE: If the espresso powder is pressed down too 昀椀rmly, the water cannot 昀氀ow
through it. The brewing process is then aborted, a warning signal is heard and all 昀椀elds light
up.
Inserting the Porta昀椀lter into the Device
1. Hold the 昀椀lled porta昀椀lter (16) 昀椀rmly by the handle and insert it at a 45° angle into the
porta昀椀lter mount (10).
2. Twist the porta昀椀lter to the right, as far as it will go. The handle points straight forwards.
Removing the Porta昀椀lter from the Device
1. Hold the porta昀椀lter (16) by the handle and turn it approx. 45° to the left.
2. It is released and can be pulled down and out of the device.
