6.4. Working channel and use of accessories
Possible problem
Working channel access
is constricted or
blocked (endotherapy
accessories do not pass
through channel
smoothly).
Insertion or withdrawal
of endotherapy
accessories is difficult.
6.5. Image quality and brightness
Possible problem
No video image.
Image suddenly
darkens.
Blurry image.
Flickering images.
Possible cause
Endotherapy accessory
is not compatible.
Endotherapy accessory
is open.
Working channel
is blocked.
Biopsy valve is not open.
Bending section in
(partial-) retroflection.
Possible cause
aBox 2 or ancillary
equipment is not
switched ON.
aScope Gastro connector
is not properly connected
to the aBox 2.
aScope Gastro is
defective.
aBox 2 is defective.
Camera or illumination
failure.
Objective lens is dirty.
Water drops on the
outside of the lens.
Condensation on the
inside of the lens.
aBox 2 image settings
incorrect.
Signal interference
from activated HF
endotherapy accessory.
Recommended action
Select a compatible
endotherapy accessory.
Close the endotherapy
accessory or retract it into
its sheath.
Try to unblock it by flushing
sterile water into the working
channel with a syringe.
Open the cap of the biopsy
valve.
Straighten the bending section
as much as possible without
losing the endoscopic image.
Recommended action
Switch aBox 2 and ancillary
equipment ON.
Connect the aScope Gastro
connector properly to the
aBox 2.
Withdraw the aScope Gastro
and connect a new endoscope.
Contact your Ambu
representative.
Withdraw the aScope Gastro
and connect a new endoscope.
Rinse the objective lens.
Insufflate and/or rinse to
remove water drops from
the lens.
Increase the water temperature
in the water bottle and continue
to use the aScope Gastro.

Use alternative mode or
settings on the HF-generator
with lower peak voltage (pV).
