Miter cutting 6-3/4" (171mm) base boards –
This saw can miter cut 6-3/4" (171mm) tall base
boards (Fig. 48) vertically positioned against
the fence (12) at any angle from 47° left to 47°
right miter. All angled cuts must be made with
the base board placed on the left side of the
table (22). For certain cuts, the base board will
have to be flipped upside down or placed with
the face side against the fence. Always use a C-
clamp (Fig. 48) to hold the base board to the
fence before making cuts. Engage the Chop/
Crown Lock. See "Chop/Crown Lock" on page
35.

Setting Saw to Make a Miter Cut
Use a clamping position that
does not interfere with op-

head assembly.
1. See "Using Miter Detent System" on page
36.
2. Loosen the miter lock knob (Fig. 49, 20).
Push miter detent override button (21) and
move the saw to the desired angle, using ei-
ther the detents (18) or the miter scale (19).

or against the fence with a C-clamp (Fig. 49).
5. Follow either the procedure "Chop Cuts" on
page 37 or "Slide Cuts" on page 38.
6. Wait until saw blade comes to a complete
stop before returning head assembly (Fig.
49, 28) to the raised position and then re-
move workpiece.
