The employer and/or the person in charge must take the necessary measures to reduce the risk of user
exposure, including:
-
perform regular equipment maintenance;
use protective gloves;
-
-
avoid prolonged equipment use as much as possible, by providing adequate work breaks;
strictly comply with this use and maintenance manual.

General warnings

CAUTION!
Always wear adequate and suitable safety clothing for the work to be carried out. Avoid wearing neckties,
necklaces, belts or long hair not tied as they can be caught between the moving parts. Use non-slip shoes
and gloves against cold.
Use the tool only according to the times allowed and shown in paragraph 4.2 "Use".
Do not operate, service or repair the equipment if you are under the influence of medicines, alcohol or drugs
which could impair your alertness or coordination. Do not allow other people to remain within the 10 metres
while using the tool. Entrust or lend the tool only to persons who have been trained by authorised persons.
Keep children and animals away from the tool. Never tamper with the safety devices. The user is responsible
for dangers or injuries caused to other people or for damage caused to their properties. Do not use the tool
when you are in unstable position or off balance. Start the tool only open and well-ventilated places. Do not
perform any maintenance with the engine (3) running.
Only use the tool for the purposes described in paragraph 3.2; any other use may cause injuries.
Fill the tank only away from heat sources.
Do not smoke when refuelling.
Do not remove the cap (15) of the tank with the engine (3) running.
Pay attention not to spill the mixture on the ground or on the engine (3); if fuel leaks during refuelling, move
the tool before starting.
Do not use fuel (mixture) for cleaning.
Do not check the spark plug spark near the cylinder hole.
Do not work with the silencer damaged (31).
Always keep the handles (5) and (17) clean and dry from oil and fuel.
Keep the tool in a dry place, away from heat sources and raised off the ground.
Check the tool daily to make sure that each safety and non-safety device is working.
Do not perform operations or repairs that do not fall under normal maintenance. Contact authorised work-
shops.

Use

Get into a stable and safe work position.
Only use the tool for the purposes described in paragraph 3.2; any other use may cause injuries and is prohibited.
CAUTION!
The greatest detachment of fruits does not occur by accelerating on the same point of the branch for a pro-
longed time; change the coupling position and repeat the shaking operation.

Maintenance

CAUTION!
Before performing any maintenance operations or mechanical adjustments on the tool, put on heavy-duty work
shoes, protective gloves and goggles.
Routine maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by an operator with the necessary physical and intellectual
qualifications as defined by the employer.
Extraordinary maintenance operations (e.g. dismantling the gearbox or the control electronics) or repairs must be per-
formed by a mechanical or electric/electronic maintenance technician.
Disconnect the tool from the battery (9) before any adjustment or maintenance.
Unauthorised personnel must keep at least 2 metres away from the tool during maintenance or repair operations.
Only qualified mechanical or electric/electronic maintenance technicians are authorised to deactivate the safety
devices (where present) when extraordinary maintenance is to be performed. It is their responsibility to safeguard the
operators and the tool. The safety devices should be activated as soon as maintenance work has been completed.
All maintenance procedures not dealt with in this manual are to be performed at the Manufacturer's Authorised Service
Centres.
When maintenance or repairs have been completed, the tool can be started again only if duly authorised by a mechan-
ical or electric/electronic maintenance technician, who must make sure that:

work has been completed;

the equipment works perfectly;
