Guide Rail Lift-out System
See Figure 18 for installation dimensions. Bolt the upper rail
bracket to the flange on the sump cover. Set the discharge
base adapter in place and cut the guide rails to fit from 2"
diameter pipe. Install the intermediate rail bracket halfway up
the guide rails. Install the guide on the pump. Use a hoist to
raise the pump/guide assembly over the lift-out rails; lower
the pump with the guide notches between the rails. The
guide key should engage the lip on the discharge adapter,
locating the pump discharge correctly and compressing the
bonded rubber sealing ring on the guide's discharge port.

TROUBLESHOOTING
To avoid unnecessarily removing the pump from the sump,
disconnect the leak detection probe wire from the pump. If
the problem is in the pump, the light will go out; if problem is
in the leak detection circuit, the light will stay on.
To check for water in the motor or seal plate, hoist the pump
out of the sump. Drain the oil from the seal plate into a clean
container and look for water. If no water is present, drain the
oil from motor cavity into a clean container and look for
water.
NOTICE: Do not loosen or remove the stator bolt. If
removed, the stator may shift down in the motor housing,
preventing reinstallation of the bolt and requiring complete
disassembly of the pump to reposition the stator. If loos-
ened, the sealing gasket must be replaced before retighten-
ing. Use Loctite 271 on bolt threads and torque bolt to 15 ft.-
lbs. torque. Do not over torque; over-tightening bolt will
damage stator.
If neither the seal plate oil nor the motor oil is contaminated,
remove the capscrews from the terminal cover and carefully
lift the cover. Do not unseat the terminal board from the gas-
ket. Check for water inside the terminal cover. If water is
found inside the terminal cover, wipe the terminal board dry
before unseating the gasket.
Once the contaminated area is located, pressure testing can
be used to determine the location of the leak. An alternative
is to disassemble the pump (see Page 3) and replace all the
gaskets, seals, and O-Rings while it is out of the sump.
Check for damage to the castings before reassembling the
pump.
