8. Stand the pump right side up on a cradle that allows it to
sit solidly with the shaft projecting down. Open the termi-
nal cover (tap with a lead hammer) and check for water
(Figure 7).
9. Wipe all the moisture out of the terminal assembly
before removing the board and gasket. Disconnect the
wiring on the top of the board; remove the terminal
assembly board, gasket, and O-Ring. Disconnect the
wiring on the bottom of the board.
10. Using the wire port from the motor to the terminal compart-
ment as a pour spout, lay the pump on its side and pour
the oil out of motor (Figure 8). Check for water in the oil. Be
prepared to hoist the lower end of pump to get all possible
oil out of the motor before removing the motor cover.

13. Remove the seal plate, shaft, rotor, and bearings from
the motor housing.
14. Remove the thrust bearing retainer from the seal plate
(Figure 10). Remove the seal plate from shaft.
15. Stand the motor housing upright on a padded surface.
Remove the stator bolt and the stator should drop out of
the motor housing. If it does not, carefully coax it out of
the housing.
16. Remove the leak detector probe from the seal plate.
Clean all of the moisture out of the probe cavity and off
of the probe before reassembly.
17. With a screw driver, tap the stationary half of seal out of
the seal plate.
18. If replacing the motor, press the top bearing off of the
shaft.
19. If replacing the bearings, press both of the old bearings
off of shaft.
REASSEMBLY
