7. Connect test pressure lines from MGT or KMA to the
injection pump.
8. If distributor injection pumps are used, the pressure
gauges for measuring vacuum/internal pump pressure
and delivery pump pressure must also be connected.
9. Connect ring fitting (1) for the pressure gauge con-
nection (for measuring the vacuum / pump internal
pressure) and ring fitting (2) to the banjo bolts (for
the flushing line) as shown in the connection diagram.

10. Connect the connector (4) to the temperature
sensor (5) and shutoff valve (6) using the OUT
screw (3) as shown in the connection diagram.
11. Connect the line to the temperature sensor (5).
12. Connect the return line for the test oil or the over-
flow measurement to the connector (4).
i
This line must be connected either to the test-oil
return connection on the swivel arm or - for overflow
measurement - to the upper part of the MGT / KMA.
!
The shutoff valve must be in position "closed" during
the measurement of the delivery rate. If this instruc-
tion is disregarded, the pump will be incorrectly set!

Checking prestroke, start of delivery
and cam offset for in-line pumps
1. Seal the outlet for the calibration-fluid return line on
the injection pump.
2. Switch on the calibration-fluid supply.
3. Set the specified high pressure by rotating the con-
trol valve for the calibration-fluid supply pressure in
an anti-clockwise direction.
4. Open the screw plug for the start-of-delivery elbow
on the test nozzle holder of the 1st cylinder. Another
cylinder may also be specified for specific injec-
tion pump models. To open the screw plug use the
enclosed box spanner and undo the screw plug by
approx. ½ revolution.
5. Using the enclosed T-bar, rotate the flywheel in the di-
rection of rotation of the injection pump until the cam
of the 1st cylinder is at bottom dead centre. In this
position oil runs out of the start-of-delivery elbow.
i
Instead of rotating the flywheel by hand using a
T- bar, it can also be rotated by the drive in angular-
position measurement mode.
!
Remove the T-bar from the flywheel beforehand!
6. Attach the start-of-delivery measuring device (op-
tional acces sory) to the injection pump.
7. Place the position sensor of the measuring device
on the roller tappet and when at the lowest position,
set the dial gauge to 0.
8. Continue rotating the flywheel in the direction of
the injection pump; the cam on the injection-pump
camshaft moves the piston of the barrel-and-valve
assembly upwards via the roller tappet. The start of
delivery has been obtained when the piston closes
the inlet bore. At the same time the oil flow at the
elbow switches over from a flowing to a dripping
state (droplet chain).
