Arthrex Shoulder Suspension System AR-1650S
Instructions for Use
Arm Sleeve Disposable (AR-1651)
Once the patient is on the table and draped, locate the Arm Sleeve
disposable and wrap it around the patient's arm in the manner
prescribed and shown in the instructional artwork on the disposable.
(Figure 12)
Use only the approved disposable, AR-1651 Arm Sleeve,
Non-conformance may result in patient not being secured
properly
First unwrap the disposable so that it can lay flat. Place the patients
hand in the sleeve so that it rests below the white clip and on top of
the flat section with numbered edges 1-4 on the reverse side. Wrap
sections 1 & 2 and then follow with 3 & 4 (Figure 13). Flip the second
flat section with numbered edges 5-7 over the patients arm so that it is
covered and the white clip is facing out away from the patients
knuckles. Finally secure straps 5, 6 and 7 (Figure 14).

Use the numbered tabs to show the order in which segments of the
disposable should be wrapped on the patient's operative arm.
Once the arm sleeve is wrapped around the operative arm, pull the
Arm Sleeve Connector to the arm sleeve by grabbing it by the grey bell
section of the connector and click the arm sleeve in place (Figure 15).
Ensure that the two white clips are exposed so that the patient is fully
locked in. Apply traction to the patient's arm as needed by adding or
removing weight from the weight hanger. This should be performed by
a circulating nurse or other qualified non sterile personnel.
Adjust rotation of the arm as needed. The arm can be held in the
desired location by tightening (counterclockwise rotation) the grey bell
on the bottom of the Arm Sleeve Connector.
To adjust the angle at which the arm is held, grab the connector by the
grey bell section and slide to the desired location (Figure 16).
