2.1 Designated use
2.2 Obligations of the operator

The ABIPLAS
WELD plasma powder welding torches must be used to safely
weld low and high-alloy materials. They are designed for manual and
automatic use.
• The device described in these instructions may be used only for the
purpose and in the manner described. The operating, maintenance and
servicing conditions must also be observed.
• Any other use is considered improper.
• Unauthorised modifications or changes to enhance the performance are
not permitted.
• Store the operating instructions within easy reach of the device for
reference and enclose them when passing on the product.
• Commissioning, operating and maintenance work may only be carried out
by qualified personnel. Qualified personnel are persons who, based on
their special training, knowledge and experience, are able to assess the
tasks assigned to them and identify possible dangers (in Germany see
TRBS 1203).
• Keep other persons out of the work area.
• Please observe the accident prevention regulations of the relevant country.
• Ensure the work area is well lit and keep it clean.
Observe the following standards and guidelines in particular:
• 89/391/EEC: Directive on the introduction of measures to encourage
improvements in the safety and health of workers at work.
• 2009/104/EC: Directive concerning the minimum safety and health
requirements for the use of work equipment by workers at work.
• 2004/108/EC: Directive on the approximation of the laws of the Member
States relating to electromagnetic compatibility.
• EN 60974-1: Arc welding equipment, Part 1: Welding power sources
• DIN EN 60974-4: Arc welding equipment, Part 4: Periodic inspection and
checking
• EN 60974-7, Point 7.4.2: Arc welding equipment, Part 7: Torch
• DIN EN 60974-9: Arc welding equipment, Part 9: Installation and use
• DIN EN 60974-10: Arc welding equipment, Part 10: Electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) requirements
• Occupational health and safety regulations of the relevant country. For
