3.4.1 Operation of the welding system
□ System shut off and disconnected from the mains.
□ Connect the power source-feed unit extension, control connectors M-O to power
source and Y-AA on feed unit, power connector N the power source and Z to feed
unit, gas pipe and if present connect cooling unit fittings
□ Connect the power source to the mains.
□ Close switch R.
♦ wait for the screen to appear on LCD display H with information on the power source;
Item No, Serial No, software version, IP address etc., the screen will remain
displayed for a few seconds.
♦ the main screen will then be loaded; if this is the first activation, progress will be
displayed with default parameters. If the machine has already worked, the last
process will be displayed with the parameters used.
♦ fans (21) operate for a few seconds, then stop.
♦ if a cooling unit is present, it can be enabled or disabled as follows: select MENU-
>ACCESSORIES->COOLING UNIT, press the knob, select ON/OFF/AUTO (by
pressing the knob) depending on the chosen mode.
3.4.2 MIG operation
WHEN PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TESTS, DO NOT POINT THE TORCH AT
PEOPLE OR PARTS OF THE BODY, BUT ONLY TOWARDS AN OPEN SPACE OR
THE WORKPIECE TO BE WELDED.
□ Turn the power source off using switch R.
□ Connect the gas supply to fitting H.
□ Connect power cable provided to connectors AA-Z-Y of wire feed unit and M-O-N of
power source.
□ Connect the MIG torch to centralised attachment B (if present, also connect touch
control floating connector to connector E).
□ Connect the cable of negative terminal L of the power source to the workpiece to be
welded.
□ Turn the power source back on using switch R.
□ Select the process "conventional MIG"
□ Select Material, Wire diameter and gas to be used
□ Select "MIG 2 STAGE" mode
□ With the water-cooled torch select MENU->ACCESSORIES->WATER COOLING
□ Press and rotate the knob to select AUTO.
♦ Pump (26) and fan (2) will be activated.
