Low air temperature:
10°C (50°F) or below
1. Follow steps 1 – 2 under "Normal air temperature".
2. Warm up the engine by opening and closing the
throttle slightly.
3. Continue warming up the engine until it runs
smoothly and responds to the throttle when the
choke knob (1) is at Fully OFF (B).
NOTICE
• Extended use of the choke may impair piston and
cylinder wall lubrication and damage the engine.
• Snapping the throttle or fast idling for more than
about 5 minutes at normal air temperature may
cause exhaust pipe discoloration.
Flooded Engine
If the engine fails to start after repeated attempts, it
may be flooded with excess fuel.
To clear a flooded engine, position the engine stop
switch in OFF and move the choke knob to Fully OFF
(B). Open the throttle fully and crank the engine for
5 seconds. Wait for 10 seconds, position the engine
stop switch in RUN and follow the starting procedures
for "High air temperature".

Carburetor Drain Tube

The carburetor drain tube prevents eventual excess of
fuel in the carburetor float chamber, which could flow
into the cylinder. When parking, make sure the fuel
valve is off to avoid fuel leakage. An eventual dripping
(one or two drops of fuel) from the drain tube is normal
due to evaporation and condensation of fuel from the
float chamber inside the tube. This condition does not
represent any hazard to the pilot or motorcycle.
NOTICE
The carburetor drain tube should never be plugged,
otherwise the engine may be seriously damaged.
