Inspection
Warnings for the inspection procedure:
• After any programming phase, you must run an inspection of the entire wire-
less connection system to check operation of the devices present.
• Since certain phases of the inspection require checks to be run with the gate
wing moving, during inspection the automation system may not be adequately
safe. Therefore it is recommended to pay maximum attention when running the
checks.
• Repeat the entire inspection sequence for each single device present in the wire-
less connection network.
01. Make sure all the instructions given in the present manual are followed, in partic-
ular the warnings in chapters 1 and 3.
02. Inspect a TCW1/2 sensor connected to a resistive edge:
a) - disconnect the edge from the sensor terminals and use an ohmmeter to
measure the resistance value of the edge. Make sure the value is between 7700
ohm and 8700 ohm (nominal 8200 ohm);
b) - press the sensitive edge to activate it and measure its resistance value
again: make sure the value is less than 1000 ohm or greater than16500
ohm;
c) - lastly, connect the edge to the terminals of the TCW1/2 sensor again.
03. Activate the "check operation" of the system:
a) - make sure all the devices of the system are powered;
b) - on the IBW interface, press and release the key: this operation activates the
"check operation" mode of the system;
c) - move gate wing to the various points along its path and at each point
observe the "B" LEDs of each device to see if the radio reception is sufficient or
not m = LED on; l = LED off):
m m m = excellent radio reception
m m l = good radio reception
m l l = sufficient radio reception
l l l = insufficient radio reception
If in one or more wireless device only one LED is ON for most of the maneuver-
ing time, it is recommended to improve the communication by intervening on
each of the devices as follows: put the wireless device as close as possible to
the antenna of the IBW interface or move the antenna higher from the ground
and/or far from any metal parts that might be present. Then, follow the steps in
point 06 below until you achieve good performance.

04. Check the safety of the sensitive edge according to the PSPE pressure:
press and release the sensitive edge; then make sure the "A" LED of the
TCW1/2 sensor passes from the "flashing" state to the "solid on" state. The col-
or of the LED light depends on the charge level of the batteries as explained in
section 7.2.2.
05. Check alignment of PHW photocells: refer to the control unit manual to run
this check. The flashing signal emitted by the "A" LED of the photocells is the fol-
lowing:
• in the RX photocell: one second of flashing with 10% duty-cycle. The color of
the LED light depends on the charge level of the batteries as explained in sec-
tion 7.2.2.
• in the RX photocell: 100ms duration of flashing and frequency proportionate to
alignment: from one second of flashing (= excellent signal) to LED solid on (= no
signal) . The color of the LED light depends on the charge level of the batteries as
explained in section 7.2.2.
In this phase is possible to also check the proper functioning of the photocells
by interrupting the alignment beam with an obstacle and making sure the LED is
solid on.
06. Check functioning of LLW light signaler: if the device is set as a courtesy light,
the light stays on; on the contrary, if the device is set as a flashing signaler, the
light emits one brief flash once a second.
07. Deactivate the "check operation" mode of the system: on the IBW interface,
press and release the key.
08. Mechanically hook the gate wing to the motor and activate a maneuver.
Make sure the green LED of the IBW interface starts to flash regularly and the
gate wing opens and closes properly without reversing its direction.
09. Activate a few maneuvers and check the following conditions:
– place an obstacle between each pair of photocells and make sure the automa-
tion behaves as desired/required;
– press each sensitive edge and make sure the automation behaves as
desired/required;
– if the LLW signaler is installed and selected as a flashing light, make sure it
flashes for a duration of 0.3 second once per second).
10. If potentially dangerous situations caused by the moving gate wing have been
remedied by limiting the force of impact (types C according to standard EN
12445, on the part relative to the device sensitive to PSPE pressure), the IBW
interface and the TCW1/2 sensors should be checked by measuring such force
with the specific instrument along the path of the gate at the specific points indi-
cated in chapter 5 of standard EN 12445.
