Notes for consulting this manual
The present manual is a complete guide to building wireless radio connec-
tions between the IBW interface and all the Nice devices having Solemyo
Air Net System radio technology (this is based on two-way radio transmis-
sion without using electrical wires). With the exception of IBW, the following
devices mentioned in the manual are not included in the package: PHW
photocells; LLW light signalers; TCW1 and TCW2 sensors (for sensitive
edges).

precautions
Attention! • Important safety instructions: keep these instructions. • It is
important to follow these instructions to ensure safety. Read this manual care-
fully before beginning work.
Considering the dangers that may arise during the installation and use of the devices
mentioned in the manual, the installation must be performed in full compliance with
the law, regulations and standards to ensure maximum safety.
According to the latest European legislation, the automation of a gate or door
falls under "Machinery Directive" 2006/42/CE (pursuant to 98/37/CE) and, in
particular, in the following standards that allow the declaration of its conformi-
ty to the Machinery Directive: EN 13241-1 (harmonized standard); EN12445;
EN12453; EN12635.
Further information regarding risk analysis and the realization of the Technical
Brochure are available at www.niceforyou.com.
• This manual is destined solely for technical personnel qualified to perform installa-
tion. No other information contained in this file may be considered of interest to the
end user!
• The manufacture of safety systems for automatic doors and gates is subject to the
following standards:
– EN 12453 Industrial, commercial and a garage doors and gates. Safety in use of
automated doors. - Requirements .
– EN 12978 Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates. Safety devices for
motorized doors and gates - Test requirements and methods .
Therefore, installing and connecting the devices mentioned in the manual for the
purpose of building a "safety system" that does not satisfy the requirements of the
cited standards corresponds to negligence and deliberate abuse!
• Use of the devices in a way other than the ways cited in the manual is prohibited!
Improper uses may result in danger, injury or damage to property and /or persons.
• Do not make any changes to any parts of the devices referred to in the manual if
they are not indicated in the manual; unauthorized changes can only cause mal-
functioning. Nice declines all responsibility for damage resulting from products
which have been arbitrarily modified.
• Particular warnings regarding the suitability of using the devices referred to in
the manual as per the Directive "Electromagnetic Compatibility" 2004/108/CE
(pursuant to 89/336/CEE). These devices have been subjected to tests for electro-
magnetic compatibility in the most critical of use conditions in the configurations giv-
en in this instructions manual and in combination with the items shown in the Nice
product catalogue. Therefore if these devices are used in different configurations or
with products for which they were not designed, the electromagnetic compatibility
may no longer be guaranteed. Therefore it is prohibited to use the devices in these
situations until the installation technician has checked their compliance with the
requirements of the said directive.
• The devices referred to in the manual fall under Category 2 for safety functions dur-
ing failures (according to standard EN 13849-1). However to maintain this Catego-
ry the control unit to which the IBW interface is connected must also fall under Cat-
egory 2 for safety during the failures (according to standard EN 13849-1).
• Make sure the conditions in which the various devices are to be used are compat-
ible with the data shown in the section "Technical Characteristics" of the respective
instruction manuals.
• To make electrical connections, use adequate wires like the ones shown in the sec-
tion "Installation and connections".
