B.1 - Replacing the batteries
The rechargeable battery of the PHW, LLW and TCW2 devices can lose its capacity
after 4-5 years of working. In this case it gives frequent uncharged battery signals
(the flashing red "A" LED indicates the battery needs to be replaced).
The non-rechargeable batteries of the TCW1 sensor must be replaced at the first
signs of uncharged battery (red "A" LED).
To replace the batteries in the various devices, see figs. 13, 14, 15, and follow these
warnings:
• before starting the work, make sure the automation is stopped;
• insert the new batteries making sure the polarity is correct;
• with the new batteries inserted, check operation of the system as described in
steps 05 and 06 of chapter 6 - "Inspection".
C - Disposal
This product is an integral part of the automation system and therefore it must
be disposed along with it.
As with the installation operations, at the end of the product's lifespan, disposal
operations must be performed by qualified personnel.
This product is made up of various types of material, some of which can be recycled
and others of which must be disposed of; acquire the necessary information about
the recycling or disposal systems required by current laws in your area for this cate-
gory of product. Attention! – Some parts of the product may contain polluting or
hazardous substances which, if thrown away, may have damaging effects on the
environment or on human health.
As indicated by the symbol appearing here, the product must not be
thrown in with the household waste. Separate the waste into categories
for disposal according to the methods established by current legislation
in your area, or return the product to the retailer when purchasing a new

nical characteristics at any time and without notice; in any event it guarantees the
original functions and purpose of use. • All technical specifications apply at a tem-
perature of 20° C.
BlueBUS IBW interface
• Product Type: device installed on the fixed part of the automation system and
connected by wire to the control unit. It is used for wireless reception of the state of
the sensors contained in the photocells, sensitive edges etc. and for transmitting
commands such as turning on the signal light in the flasher.
• Technology adopted: reception/transmission of data via radio at 868 MHz.
• Power supply: by means of connection to the BlueBUS terminal of the automation
control unit.
• Power absorption: 0.65 W
• Usable radio range: 20 m (*)
• Maximum radio range (under optimal conditions): 40 m
• Resistance category under failure: Category 2, according to standard EN
13849-1, only if the control unit in which it is installed can guarantee Category 2 to
the entire automation system.
• Use in particularly acid, saline or potentially explosive atmospheres: no
• Assembly: inside the automatisms or only inside adequate protective containers.
• Level of container protection: IP30
• Operating temperature: -20° C to +70° C
• Dimensions (mm): 18 x 33 x 40
• Weight (g): 25
• Maximum number of maneuver cycles per day: 15, with maneuvers that last a
maximum of one minute.
Note: (*) - The range of the reception and transmission devices may be affected by
other devices operating at the same frequency in the vicinity (such as radio head-
sets, alarm systems, etc.) and causing interference in the system. The manufacturer
cannot provide any guarantee of the actual range of its radio devices in cases of
strong interferences.
The technical characteristics of the PHW, LLW, TCW1, TCW2 devices are contained
in their respective instruction manuals.
