Unit function and design
Protection against loss of brine (VWS only)
This function continuously monitors the brine pressure in
order to prevent a possible loss of brine.
An analog pressure sensor shuts down the heat pump as
soon as the brine pressure drops below 0.2 bar. Fault 91 is
shown in the error history until the cause of the fault has
been eliminated.
The heat pump switches itself on again automatically when
the brine pressure rises above 0.4 bar and the fault display
disappears.
If the brine pressure drops below 0.6 bar for more than one
minute, a warning appears in menu
Floor protection control for all heating installa-
tions without buffer tank
This function provides overheating protection for
floors (important, e.g. for wooden floors). If the measured
heating flow temperature in the underfloor heating circuit
continuously exceeds a value that can be set by the heating
engineer for more than 15 minutes, the heat pump switches
off and issues fault message 72. When the heating flow
temperature falls below this value again and the error has
been reset by the heating engineer, the heat pump switches
back on.
Phase monitoring of the power supply
This function continuously checks the sequence and pres-
ence of the lines (clockwise rotating field) of the 400 V
power supply. If the sequence is not correct or if a line
breaks down, the heat pump is locked out in order to avoid
damage to the compressor.
Freezing protection function
This function prevents the evaporator from freezing when
the heat source temperature drops below a certain value.
The outlet temperature of the heat source is constantly
measured. If the heat source outlet temperature falls below
a certain value, the compressor temporarily shuts off with
the fault message 20 or 21. If these faults occur three times
in succession, a permanent lock-out is executed or the heat
pump switches to emergency mode if the optional external
auxiliary heater has been enabled for this purpose.
3.2.3 Manually adjustable functions
Manually adjustable functions are also available (¬ section
4.13), with which you can temporarily deactivate automatic
mode and control operation manually or adapt it to your
own requirements:
Time programme
This function enables the programming of up to three time
windows per day or per block of days for heating mode (for
each heating circuit), hot water handling and circulation.
10
Holiday programme
This function allows you to program two holiday periods
with date entry and night set back temp. with a specific
room temp. setpoint for heating mode.
Party function
This function allows you to continue the heating and hot
water times with set temperature values beyond the next
switch-off time.
Energy-saving function
1.
This function enables you to immediately lower the room
temperature setpoint for an adjustable period.
One-time cylinder charging
This function allows you to charge (heat) the domestic hot
water cylinder once, regardless of the current time pro-
gramme.
If external passive cooling is installed:
Manual cooling function
This function enables the permanent cooling of living
rooms during summer operation for a programmable
number of days (0 - 99). You can activate and deactivate
these functions manually at any time.
In manual cooling mode, the heat pump permanently per-
forms a cooling function. The control for the automatic
cooling function is deactivated in this case.
Floor drying
This function enables the dry heating of screed. It is set up
by the heating engineer.
Legionella protect.
This function kills germs in the domestic hot water cylinder
and in the pipes. It is set up by the heating engineer.
Remote maintenance
This function allows the heating engineer to diagnose and
set up the controller via vrDIALOG or vrnetDIALOG.
3.3
The heat pump is equipped with a weather-controlled
energy balance controller, which, depending on the control
type, provides the heating and hot water handling function
and controls it in automatic mode.
The controller ensures a higher heating output when out-
side temperatures are low. In the event of high outside tem-
peratures, the controller lowers the heating output. The
outside temperature is measured by a separate sensor
which is mounted in the open air, and the results are trans-
mitted to the controller.
The room temperature depends only on your preset values.
The system compensates for the effect of the outside tem-
perature.
The DHW loading is not affected by the weather control.
