The included accessory kit 16-1 only fits the Color 16-1 camera cable set. The
tools add-on mirror, add-on hook and add-on magnet are clipped optionally to
the camera head. Always close the flap otherwise the tool could be lost.
The included accessory kit 9-1 only fits the Color 9-1 camera cable set. Push
the plastic sleeve over the wire of the add-on mirror, add-on hook or add-on
magnet tool first. Hook the hook of the tool on the camera head into the hole
in the camera housing marked by an arrow. Align the plastic sleeve so that the
wire of the tool fits into the groove of the plastic sleeve. Push the plastic sleeve
up to the stop on the camera.
2.1. Switching On the Endoscope Camera
The handheld unit (5) is switched on by turning the On/Off wheel (4). The
Power-LED (6) lights. Switch on the controller unit (7) with the On/Off button
(8). Keep the On/Off button pressed for about 1 second. The brightness of the
LEDs on the colour camera can be adjusted by turning the On/Off wheel (4).
2.2. Inserting the MicroSD Card
Insert the MicroSD-card in the card slot (15). The tip of the arrow on the
MicroSD-card must point towards the display. The card snaps into place. To
remove the MicroSD-card, press it again and it springs out.
To avoid data loss, the MicroSD-card should not be removed during photo/
video recording. This could otherwise be damaged.
MicroSD-cards up to 32 GB can be inserted.

2.3. Menu Settings of the Controller Unit
The controller unit has a menu in which different settings can be made, e.g.
language, frame rate, memory formatting.
Open the menu and navigate:
● In REMS CamScope keep the Menu button (11) pressed for about 2 s.
● In REMS CamScope S press the Menu button (11).
● Select the menu item to be changed with the Up/Down buttons (10 and 12).
● Confirm the menu selection with the OK (9) button.
● With the Menu button (11) back in the menu, Cancel, exit the menu.

● Language: to select the menu language
German, English, simple Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,
Japanese, Dutch and Russian
● Video format: must be selected according to the Color camera cable set
(see technical data)
PAL and NTSC
● Format: Delete all data on the MicroSD-card
Select Yes with the Up/Down button (10/12) and confirm with OK (9).
● Factory setting: Reset controller unit to factory settings.
Select Yes with the Up/Down button (10/12) and confirm with OK (9).
● Version: The software version installed in the controller unit is displayed.
Recording settings:
Another menu appears when selecting the recording setting:
● Frame rate: Pps (photos per second)
adjustable from 10 to 30 PPS in steps of five for REMS CamScope, adjustable
from 5 to 30 PPS in steps of five for REMS CamScope S.
The setting of the frame rate per second determines the quality of the video.
The more frames per second are recorded, the better and smoother the
reproduction. However, more memory is required at a higher frame rate.
● Time stamp: Show date and time in the photo/video.
In many cases it is useful to record the date and time of a recording. This
serves for keeping your own documentation and later processing of the
photos and videos. The date and time of the recording is displayed during
later viewing on the computer when the time stamp is switched on.
● Recording method (REMS CamScope only): Setting for selection of photo
or video recording.
Date/time:
The date and time must be set first to make sure that the time stamp in the
video and on the photo show the correct time and date. The date must be
entered in the order year / month / day and the time in hours / minutes.
The entry position is changed with the OK button (9). The value is set with the
Up/Down buttons (10/12). By pressing the Menu button (11) the menu is exited
and the changed date and changed time are saved.
Play:
Select menu entry to start playing on the monitor (see 3.5).
2.4. Connecting to a Computer
As soon as the controller unit is connected to the computer with the included
USB cable, it is set up as a removable data medium. In REMS CamScope S
the controller unit must be switched on with the On/Off button after plugging in
the USB cable. An appropriate icon is displayed in the computer. The hardware
installation may take several minutes depending on the operating system and
the computer speed. Minimum requirements of the computer: MS Windows
2000 with Media-Player, or newer. When the device has been set up on the
computer you can copy and erase the videos and photos as with a hard disk.
To avoid data loss, the MicroSD-card should not be removed during photo/
video transmission. This could otherwise be damaged.
2.5. Using the Video Output
For transmission of the analogue video signal to a suitable display device, e.g.
TV set, beamer. Switch off the controller unit and the display device to connect
the video cable. Connect the video cable included in delivery to the video out
socket (14) of the controller unit and the suitable input sockets of the display
device. Read the operating instructions of the display device. Switch on both
devices. The controller unit display is off and the picture is shown on the display
device.
3. Operation
3.1. Endoscope Camera
After switching on the camera endoscope (see 2.1.) the camera image is shown
in the display.
NOTICE
Do not kink the camera cable. Observe the smallest permissible inside radius
of all camera cables of 11 cm!
3.2. Controller Unit
The controller unit can be used as a video recorder. You can save photos and
videos on the MicroSD-card. In CamScope S videos with voice recording can
be saved on the MicroSD-card.
3.3. Taking a Photo
REMS CamScope: Change to the photo mode with the Up (10) button. A photo
camera icon is shown under the battery display. The photo is saved on the
MicroSD-card by pressing the OK (9) button.
REMS CamScope S: The photo is saved on the MicroSD-card by pressing the
Record Photo button (25).
3.4. Recording a Video
REMS CamScope: Change to the film mode with the Up button (10). A film
camera icon is shown under the battery display. A video recording is started by
pressing the OK button (9). The video recording is stopped by pressing the OK
button (9) again. The video is saved on the MicroSD-card.
REMS CamScope S: A video recording with voice recording is started by
pressing the Video Record button (24). The video recording with voice recording
is stopped by pressing the Video Record button (9) again. The video with voice
recording is saved on the MicroSD-card.
3.5. Photo and Video Playback
The controller unit automatically creates a folder in which the photos and videos
are saved. This folder is named with the current date. The recorded photos/
videos of the same date are saved in this folder.
REMS CamScope:
Press the menu button (11) briefly. Select the desired date with the Up/Down
buttons (10/12) and press the OK button (9). The recorded photos/videos are
displayed in a list. Select the appropriate photo/video with the Up/Down buttons
and press the OK button to display the photo/video. A folder can only be deleted
if it contains no photo/video.
Other functions can be selected in the video playback:
● Press the OK button (9) for pause; press the OK button again to end the
pause.
● Keep the Up button (10) pressed for forward. Release Up, video is played
at normal speed.
● Keep the Down button (12) pressed for rewind. Release Down, video is
played at normal speed.
● Press the Menu button (11) to exit video playback.
REMS CamScope S:
Press the Play Photo/Video button (23). Select the desired date with the Up/
Down buttons (10/12) and press the OK button (9). The recorded photos/videos
are displayed in a list. Select the appropriate photo/video with the Up/Down
buttons and press the OK button to display the photo/video. The controller unit
has no built-in loudspeaker. Voice playback is only possible for videos with
voice recording with a suitable computer.
Press the Delete/Zoom button (22) to delete a photo/video/folder. Mark the
"checkmark" of the security prompt with the Up/Down buttons (10/12) and
confirm with the OK button (9).
Other functions can be selected in the video playback:
● Press the OK button (9) for pause; press the OK button again to end the
pause.
● Keep the Up button (10) pressed for about 2 s for fast forward. Press the
OK button (9) to return to playback at normal speed.
● Keep the Down button (12) pressed for fast rewind. Press the OK button (9)
to return to playback at normal speed.
● Press the Menu button (11) to exit video playback.
The playback menu is exited by pressing the Menu button once or several
times.
