5. Cleaning, desinfecting, sterilization
and product care
Note
Accessories such as the electrode handle, active electrodes, neutral
electrodes and cables must be prepared, applied and sterilized as de-
scribed in their corresponding instructions for use.
Do not sterilize single-use electrodes, disposable cables and single-use
handles!
5.1 Disinfecting and cleaning
Risk of electric shock and burns!
Be sure to unplug the device before cleaning it.
Do not use flammable or explosive cleaning or
WARNING
disinfecting solutions.
Be sure that no fluids are allowed to penetrate
the device.
Only use cleaning and disinfectant solutions that are allowable for
cleaning surfaces under national laws.
Never lay the device in water or cleaning solution.
Never disinfect the product mechanically or by boiling it.
Allow any fluid that penetrates the product to run out immediately.
Apply cleaning and disinfectant solution.
Wipe away cleaning and disinfectant solution with a sponge or
cloth that has been moistened in clean water.
Dry the unit with a clean, lint-free cloth.
5.2 Care and checking for damage
Inspect all cables, and in particular electrode cables, for any dam-
age to their insulation.
Perform a safety inspection annually (see Safety inspection).

6.1 Safety inspection
A safety inspection must be carried out annually.

spection as well as the measurement values in conformance with the
inspection protocol form.
