Application
Automatic reference optimization
Prerequisite
9 Automatic reference optimization is activated in the Application –> Auto
totalize –> Activate menu (Auto totalize is only available in the counting
mode) and
is displayed
9 The average piece weight is obtained via sample counting, not by entering the APW.
1. Carry out piece counting with a fixed number of reference pieces. (Repeat steps 1-3
of section 3.1.1, page 14).
2. Add aditional reference pieces.
The total number of the two countings is displayed, the function of optimization is
enabled after the number is stable.
The new average piece weight is obtained.
•
The second number of reference pieces must be lower than the first number of reference
pieces.
•
If the difference between the result of the second average piece weight and the first
average piece weight is greater, the Optimization function cannot be executed.
3.1.5 Minimum sample weight
In order to obtain a more precise average piece weight during reference number counting,
minimum resolution can be specified to set minimum sample weight.
Prerequisite
9 The minimum percentage accuracy of the reference weight is specified in the
Application –> Count –> Min. sample weight menu.
1. Calculate the average piece weight as described in steps 1 and 2 of section 3.1.1,
page 14.
If the scale has determined that the percentage accuracy for the reference weight is
below the value set as minimum sample weight, it calculates the number of pieces
that you have to place on the scale to reach the desired percentage accuracy.
2. Place the indicated number of pieces on the scale.
The average piece weight is optimized.
It is possible to override the minumum sample weight checking by pressing the
when you are prompted to add pieces on the scale. This will enable you to use the
calculated piece weight, but note that a * symbol appears on the display to indicate that
the sample weight is below the desired percentage accuracy.
