WARNING
Read all the safety information and instructions that were supplied with
the dust extraction hood. Failure to comply with safety information and
instructions can lead to electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe place for future reference.
These operating instructions describe the dust extraction hood (hereafter also re-
ferred to as the "product") for use with angle grinders.
The purpose of the illustrated figures in these operating instructions is to help you
better understand the descriptions and step sequences. The representations in the
figures are examples and may deviate slightly from the actual appearance of your
product.
The term "power tool" used in the safety instructions refers to mains-powered elec-
tric tools (with mains cable) and battery-powered electric tools (without mains
cable).

SAFETY
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION FOR POWER TOOLS
WARNING
Disregarding the safety information and instructions leads to risk of injury
Failure to comply with safety information and instructions can lead to electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Before starting any work on the product, read the operating instructions, in
particular the Safety chapter and the respective safety instructions. It is import-
ant to understand the information that has been read.
By following the safety information and instructions provided in these operating
instructions, personal injury and property damage may be prevented when
working at or with the product.
General safety information for power tools – workplace safety
– Keep your work area clean and well lit. Untidy or dark work areas can lead to
accidents.
– Do not use power tools in explosive atmospheres that contain flammable li-
quids, gases or dusts. Power tools generate sparks that can ignite dust or va-
pours.
– Keep children and other persons at a safe distance when using the power
tool. If you are distracted, you may lose control of the device.
General safety information for power tools – electrical safety
– The plug of the power tool must fit into the socket. The plug must not be
tampered with in any way. Do not use adapter plugs together with earthed
power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of elec-
tric shock.
– Avoid making physical contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, heaters,
cookers and refrigerators. There is increased risk of electric shock when your
body is earthed.
– Keep power tools out of the rain and away from wet environments. Water
penetrating into a power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
– Do not misuse the cable. Never use the cable to carry, pull or unplug the
power tool. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving
parts. Damaged or entangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
– When working with a power tool outside, use only extension cables that are
suitable for outdoor use. Using an extension cable that is suitable for outdoor
use reduces the risk of electric shock.
– If using a power tool in a wet environment is unavoidable, use a residual-cur-
rent circuit breaker. It will reduce the risk of electric shock.
General safety information for power tools – personal safety
– Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating
a power tool. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention when using the
power tool may result result in serious injuries.
– Use personal protective equipment and always wear eye protection. Wearing
personal protective equipment, such as a protective mask, non-skid safety
shoes, a hard hat, hearing protection or close-fitting protective clothing, de-
pending on the type and use of the power tool, reduces the risk of injury.
– Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure that the power switch of the power tool
is in the OFF position before connecting to the power source and/or battery
pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on
the switch or connecting devices to the power supply with the switch on in-
vites accidents.
– Remove the adjusting tools or spanners before switching on the power tool. A
tool or spanner left in a rotating part of the device can cause injury.
