Routine maintenance of the aspiration system fitted with
Turbo-Smart meant to specially trained and instructed to
surgery staff
• Before any maintenance operation, wear disposable gloves, mask, overalls, and
goggles.
The aspirated liquid, which is infected and contaminating, can be under pressure inside
the machines and piping; in case of break-down of an under-pressure component,
biological hazard can be more serious.
• After surgical operations, or with high risk of infection, aspirate a solution of Puli-
Jet plus by means of Pulse Cleaner.
In the middle of the day (before lunch time) aspirate a solution of Puli-Jet plus by means
of Pulse Cleaner on each dental chair.
Directions for use are printed on the bottle-label of Puli-Jet plus; in case of installations
servicing two or more chairs, prepare Pulse Cleaner with the solution for each dental
unit, place aspiration hose on the bucket terminals. Aspiration do not require any assist-
ance by the operator. Pour the solution left in the bucket into the spittoon bowl.
• We recommend the use of disinfecting Puli-Jet plus after any operation on infection
risk patients and after the last treatment in the evening; do not rinse, Puli-Jet plus will
take effect during the night.
• Also fi lters must be replaced daily. To avoid spilling contaminating liquids, before
taking off the fi lters from the dental unit, start the aspiration without aspirating any liquid,
take off the fi lters used during the day, dip them in a disinfecting-detergent and put in
place clean fi lters with disinfecting antifoam tablets.
• Every day: check the display showing the work setting of the aspirator. Contact the engi-
neers in case of alarms such as : temperature exceeding the allowed limit, High Current
Warning, failure of the condensers capacity, saturation of the amalgam container.
Also all other fi lters of spittoon draining units and on aspiration units must be replaced
in the same way. Isolate from the mains before maintenance on the aspirators (even if
only to replace the fi lters).
Any amalgam trapped in the fi lters must be recovered in compliance with ISO 11143
regulation and conveyed to institutes authorised for disposal, being a toxic, harmful and
contaminated waste.
• Check that machines installed in gardens, in spaces under staircases or in other facili-
ties outside the surgery, are not choked by leaves, dust, rags or similar objects likely to
hindrance the machine ventilation.
• Periodically check the loudness, inform the engineer in case of alterations.
• Each operator will increase or decrease the frequency of described operations
according to his experience and work intensity.
• Fill in the routine maintenance form/log book.
Non routine-maintained machines block like the high-temperature-running ones as well;
in the fi rst case wet dirt particles are carried by aspirated air into the most sensitive point
and create frictions; in the second case overheating and the following night cooling make
the bearing grease to dry, create dimensional unbalancing to mechanical components,
and destroy insulating materials and electrical components.
• Every fi ve years replace the bearings placed on the aspirating unit and on the centrifugal
separator.
For any anomaly that the user cannot understand address the manufacturer, do not
intervene with spare parts which are not original.
Maintenance which is carried out carefully according to the recommended methods
and with the use of suitable products allows the regular working of the machines and
can prevent premature failure.
Fill in the guarantee slip and send it to the manufacturer.
* The recommended frequency for the various interventions is only indicative and it can
be reduced for surgeries with little activity or increased for professional surgeries with
intense activity.
