Assembling the Würth TOWER STAIRS
- Würth TOWER STAIRS
- Würth TOWER+ STAIRS
Step 1 (T8:1)
1. Start with a 4-rung frame (T2: A) and a walk-through frame (T2: H).
2. Install wheel legs with feet (T2: J) in the frames [T3: F16-F18].
3. Install 2x double guardrail braces (T2: C) between the 2 frames with the lower claw above the 1st rung of the 4-rung frame [T3: F3].
4. Only with Würth TOWER Plus Stairs: install 2x a diagonal brace (T2: K).
5. Level out the base section using a spirit level. If necessarry, adjust the wheel legs by srewing the wheel leg nut up or down.
6. If the top of both frames cannot be levelled out with the adjustable wheel legs, a 2-rung frame (T2: I) can be used to accommodate the difference.
7. Check the position of the four feet on the staircase. [T3: F19-F20]. Warning: do not continue the assembly if the base section is not level and/or the four feet cannot be
positioned correctly on the staircas.
Step 2 (T8:2)
1. Place a 4-rung frame on both frames of the base section (T2: A) and secure [T3: F4 – F6].
2. Install the triangular stabilisers (T2: E); [T3: F11-F15]. Check that all stabilisers make good contact with the ground. Adjust the stabilizers if
necessary.
3. If it is not possible to install the stabilizers in the correct angle [F2: F22-F27], install 2 anchoring tubes (T2:L) while still standing on the ground:
- On the walk-through frame side: install an anchoring tube on the upper rung of the walk-through frame and anchor it to the wall [T3: F28]
- Other side of tower: install an anchoring tube on the 7th rung and anchor it to the wall [T3: F28]"
4. If possible, install 2x lashing straps (T2: M) in the lower part of the scaffolding [T3: F21]. Only install lashing straps to a sturdy construction
such as a step of an open staircase.
5. Place a platform (T2: D) on the 4th rung of the base section [T3: F7 – F8].
6. Slide out the platform's hanging mechanism [T3: F10] and hang 2x a double guardrail brace here.
7. Climb through the hatch and sit on the platform with your legs through the hatch.
8. Mount 2x a double guardrail brace (T2: C) with the upper claw on top of the 4th rung of the frames [T3: F3].
Step 3 (T8:3)
1. Climb down and on the platform's hanging mechanism hang: 2x a linked frame (T2:A), [T3:F4], a platform (T2:D) and a double guardrail brace (T2:C).
2. Access the platform, install the linked frames and secure them (F2: F5-F6].
3. Install a double guardrail brace with the upper claws under the 4th rung of the frames that have just been installed [T3: F3].
4. Place a platform (T2: D) on the 4th rung of the frames you have just installed (T3: F7-F8].
Step 4 (T8:4)
1. Climb down and on the platform's hanging mechanism hang: 2x a double guardrail brace (T2:C) and (only if the required working height has been reached) a toe board set (T2:F).
2. Climb through the hatch and sit on the platform with your legs through the hatch.
3. Mount 2x a double guardrail brace (T2: C) with the upper claw on top of the 4th rung of the frames [T3: F3].
4. Only once the required working height has been reached: install the toe board set (T2:F).
5. For higher working heights, repeat steps 3 and 4.
6.3. Control card
After assembly, the scaffold should be provided with a control card (clearly visible from the ground) on which the following information is entered:
•
Contact details responsible person
•
Whether the scaffolding is ready for use
•
Load class and the equalized load
•
Whether the scaffolding is intended for indoor or outdoor use
•
Date of assembly
7. Check before use
1. Check that the rolling tower is horizontal (check using a spirit level)
2. Check that all wheels are on the brake.
3. Check that the stabilizers are properly adjusted and make good contact with the ground.
4. Check that the rolling tower is assembled in accordance with this manual and in conformity with the configuration and ballast table.
5. Check that the environmental factors, such as swinging doors ,awnings that operate automatically, aboveground electrical cables,
traffic and/or passers-by, etc., do not lead to dangerous situations.
6. Check that the rolling tower can be used safely and that it is suitable for the intended purpose.
8. Weight and ballast
Ballast is not required for indoor and outdoor usage up to a maximum wind speed of 7.9 m/s (max. 4 Beaufort*). Please
contact Würth with regard to use in higher wind speeds.

9. Moving the rolling tower
The rolling tower may only be moved while observing the following conditions:
1. Before moving the rolling tower, the height has to be reduced to a maximum of 6.2 metres.
2. Do not move a rolling tower in winds exceeding 12.7 m/s (max. 6 Beaufort).
3. When the rolling tower is moved, persons and/or materials may not remain on the rolling tower.
4. Beforehand, checks should be made that the environmental factors, such as swinging doors, canopies, pits, automatically functioning awnings, aboveground electrical
cables, traffic and/or passers-by, etc. do not lead to dangerous situations while the scaffold is moved.
5. In order to move the scaffold, the stabilisers can only be raised to a maximum of 3 cm.
6. Before moving the rolling tower, all wheels must be removed from the brake.
7. Only move the scaffold manually in a lengthways direction, over a flat, horizontal and sufficiently load-bearing surface.
8. After moving the rolling tower, check all the points listed in Section 7 "Before Using".
10. Disassembly of the rolling tower
The scaffold should be disassembled following the instructions for assembly but in reverse order.
11. Inspection, Care and Maintenance
1. Scaffolds used in a professional capacity must be inspected periodically by an expert. Local legislation and regulations may contain supplementary measures on top of this
guide.
2. Scaffold parts must be handled and transported with care in order to avoid damage.
3. Storage should be organised in such a way that only undamaged parts, in the correct amounts, are available for assembly of the scaffold.
4. Check all moving parts for correct functioning and check that these are not filthy.
5. Check all parts for damage. Damaged, worn-out or incorrect parts may not be used. Replace these parts only with original Würth parts. To prevent accidents, these parts
must be mounted in the same way as the part that is replaced. Mounting (fastening) and/or repair are at your own expense and risk. Würth shall not be liable for damage
resulting from erroneous mounting and/or repair.
6. Production code (JJ-WW) can be found on: braces, the tube, frames, the upright, platforms, inside platform beams, stabilizers and the outside tube.
