Maintenance and care
The complete grip mechanism (No. A-G) requires routine maintenance.
2.8.1 To clean/change the grip jaws
•
Remove the battery from the lockbolt setting tool.
•
Unscrew steel head sleeve (B) and nosepiece (A) with WAF 24 open-ended spanner and
clean.
•
While bracing the adapter (G) with a WAF 14 open-ended spanner, unscrew grip jaw
housing (C) with a WAF 14 open-ended spanner.

cleaning:
•
Remove old grip jaws (D) and support ring (E & F) from grip jaw housing (C) and clean.
•
Grease the outer and inner surfaces of grip jaw housing (C).
•
Insert old grip jaws (D) and support ring (E & F) into grip jaw housing (C).
To clean grip jaws C6L
•
Remove the old grip jaws (D) from grip jaw housing (C) and clean them.
•
Grease the outer and inner surfaces of grip jaw housing (C).
•
Insert the old grip jaws (D) into the grip jaw housing (C).

jaw changing:
•
Remove old grip jaws (D) and support ring (E & F) from grip jaw housing (C).
•
Clean grip jaw housing (C) and support ring (E & F).
Grease the outer and inner surfaces of grip jaw housing (C).
•
Insert new grip jaws (D) and support ring (E & F) into grip jaw housing (C).
To change grip jaws C6L
•
Remove old grip jaws (D) from grip jaw housing (C).
•
Clean grip jaw housing (C).
Grease the outer and inner surfaces of grip jaw housing (C).
•
Insert new grip jaws (D) into grip jaw housing (C).
After cleaning or changing the grip jaws, reassemble in the reverse order; screw together all
parts.
