1) Check that the machine has not been damaged during transport.
2) Check the oil level in the engine, tank and hydrostatic transmission.
3) Check the tyre pressure:
- 1,2 BAR front wheels 16×6,50-8
- 1,5 BAR rear wheels 20×10.00 – 8 tubeless
4) Check the battery voltage; it must be at least 12 Volts. Charge if necessary. Recharge the battery
with a slow charger at 12 Volt for at least two hours. IMPORTANT: During assembly take care not
to reverse the polarity of the battery.
BATTERY
Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep batteries away from sources of ignition such as flames and
sparkles. Put appropriate grease on the battery posts.
RUNNING IN – CAUTION!!
Change both the engine oil and the oil filter within the first 20 working hours. Check that there are no
oil leaks or loose screws, especially those fixing the blades, the steering and the wheels. Check the
tension of the hydrostatic transmission belt.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting up the engine, always check:
– that the engine oil level is correct (fig. 2)
– that the hydraulic oil level is correct (to be seen externally on the half of the tank – fig. 11)
– that the forward lever is in neutral position (fig. 1B, n. 2)
– that the engine cooling grids are clean (fig. 4)
– that the air filter is thoroughly clean (fig. 5)
– that the cutting deck is thoroughly clean
– that both the front and rear hydrostatic axles are clean
– that the blades are well-sharpened and well-fastened (fig. 6, ref. A – tightening torque 105 Nm)
– that the central screw of the blade hub is well fixed (fig. 6, ref. B – tightening torque 135 Nm)
– Fill the fuel tank using a funnel with very fine filter (fig.1A, no.13). IMPORTANT: stock the fuel in a
steel or specifically approved tank.
STARTING UP THE ENGINE
Push the throttle lever half-way. If the engine is cold engage the starter device (fig. 1B, n. 9). Turn the
ignition key on the dashboard (fig. 1, n. 1). Once the engine is on, release the key and bring the
throttle lever back and wait a few minutes for the engine to warm up. To switch off the engine turn the
key into the "STOP" position (fig. 1, n. 1).
STARTING WORK
– Choose the cutting height using the lever (fig. 1C, n. 8), speed up the engine up to half r.p.m. (fig.
1B, n. 10) and engage the PTO lever outside the area to be cut (fig. 1, n. 6) and bring the engine
back to max. r.p.m. before starting mowing. Gently operate the forward lever and start working (fig.
1B, n. 12). To stop the machine, bring the forward lever back into the stop position. This lever can
be brought back to the stop position also by pressing the brake pedal (fig. 1, n. 4).
– The forward lever (fig. 1B, n. 12) is also used to engage the reverse gear. If this lever is moved
backwards, the machine moves in reverse. Always operate it gently. When the lever is released, it
immediately comes back into neutral - STOP position (fig. 1B).
BRAKE
The brake pedal (fig. 1, n. 4) must be used as emergency brake only and it has a double function: it
brings the forward lever back to the stop position and it engages the brake on the rear hydrostatic
axle. To slow down and brake the machine under normal circumstances, use the forward lever only
(fig. 1B, n. 12).
