20) Firmware update

The instrument firmware can be upgraded in two ways:
1. Connect the instrument to the internet,
matic search for new updates will start. If a new version has been released, a pop-up window will appear
and instruct you on how to proceed. Or;
2. Download the latest version on OsstellConnect.com to a USB memory. Insert the USB memory into the
USB port of the Osstell IDx while it is on. The update will start automatically. Follow the instructions to
finish.

21) Backup

A back-up of the Osstell IDx data is automatically saved if you are connected to WiFi or a fixed network. It can
also be saved to a USB Memory stick, see section 8, Preparation and Set-up, Settings section, Net service and Net
backup. Choose "export" to create a backup. Choose "import" to restore an existing backup.

22) Technical information

Technical description
Osstell IDx is CE-marked according to MDD in Europe (Class IIa, internally powered, type BF applied parts. Not AP
or APG equipment, not protected against ingress of water).
Osstell IDx is in accordance with applicable parts of IEC 60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1.
The symbols used, follow the European standard EN 60601-1 and ISO 15223 as far as possible.
Notes on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
Medical electrical equipment is subjected to particular precautions with regards to EMC and must be put into
operation in accordance with the EMC notes included below:
Osstell guarantees the compliance of the device with the EMC requirements only when used with original
accessories and spare parts. The use of other accessories / other spare parts can lead to an increased emission
of electromagnetic interference or to a reduced resistance against electromagnetic interference.

Exposure
Carefully inspect the probe and cable for damage or wear. Hand
time wash the probe using a neutral instrument detergent. Do not
submerge the cord. Rinse and dry; carefully inspect the probe

Sterilize the probe and cable according to the autoclave manu-

facturer´s instructions. Do not wash in dishwasher.
Do not pour liquids directly into any of the connectors.
Store sterile goods dust-free and dry.
