QUESTION
Why is my food burning?
Why would I use convection?

ANSWER
a . Check if you are in convection mode . Convection
can speed up cooking, so you should try less
time and/or lower the temperature .
b . Adjust oven rack position . Food may be too
close to heating elements .
c . Because of its smaller capacity, countertop
ovens heat up quicker than convectional
ovens and may require less time and/or lower
temperature for cooking . .
a . Convection uses a small fan to circulate hot air
around food for even cooking, often resulting in
quicker cook times .
a . This is normal, as moisture is created from
cooking high-moisture foods; it will dissipate
during the cooking process .
a . Heating elements cycle on and off to achieve
temperature accuracy .
b . Different functions utilize the heating elements
differently; for instance, Broil only uses the top
heating elements .
a . Make sure your unit is securely plugged into a
wall outlet and the door is properly sealed .
b . Make sure to turn knob to left ON position .
c . Call Customer Service .
a . Smoke and/or odor are normal during the first
use of your oven . It will not continue after the
initial heating period .
b . If smoke and/or odor appear after first use, make
sure there is no food residue on the heating
elements (do not clean heating elements until
unit is turned off and has cooled down) .
a . The unit has a Bagel function, where the top is
meant to get darker than the bottom . Make sure
you are in the right Toast function .

This warranty is available to consumers only . You are a consumer if you own a
Cuisinart
Toaster Oven Broiler that was purchased at retail for personal, family
®
or household use . Except as otherwise required under applicable law, this
warranty is not available to retailers or other commercial purchasers or owners .
We warrant that your Cuisinart
materials and workmanship under normal home use for 3 years from the date
of original purchase .
We recommend that you visit our website, www.cuisinart.com for a fast,
efficient way to complete your product registration . However, product
registration does not eliminate the need for the consumer to maintain the
original proof of purchase in order to obtain the warranty benefits . In the event
that you do not have proof of purchase date, the purchase date for purposes of
this warranty will be the date of manufacture .
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California residents have
the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store where it was
purchased or (B) to another retail store that sells Cuisinart products of the
same type . The retail store shall then, according to its preference, either repair
the product, refer the consumer to an independent repair facility, replace the
product, or refund the purchase price less the amount directly attributable
to the consumer's prior usage of the product . If neither of the above two
options results in the appropriate relief to the consumer, the consumer may
then take the product to an independent repair facility, if service or repair
can be economically accomplished . Cuisinart and not the consumer will be
responsible for the reasonable cost of such service, repair, replacement, or
refund of nonconforming products under warranty . California residents may
also, according to their preference, return nonconforming products directly to
Cuisinart for repair or, if necessary, replacement by calling our
