3-3 Operation at the Scanner

(1) Scanning an Image Using TWAIN

The TWAIN standard makes it possible for you to simply set the
original in the scanner and then carry out the scanning procedure
from your computer. The scanner will automatically enter the TWAIN
mode once you begin the procedure at your computer.
If you want to prevent others from making copies or using the
machine as a printer before the scanner can enter the TWAIN mode,
touch the "TWAIN" key on the scanner's touch panel and the scanner
will enter the TWAIN mode immediately.
1
Press the Copier/Printer/Scanner key. The basic scanning
screen will appear.
2
Touch the "TWAIN" key.
3
Select the TWAIN source from the TWAIN-compatible
application in your computer and perform the appropriate
scanning procedure.
* The procedure to select the TWAIN source will differ
depending upon the application in use.
4
Once you have completed the scanning procedure in your
computer, the function set-up screen shown below will
appear on the scanner's touch panel.
Change any of the settings as desired. (Refer to "(4) The
Function Set-up Screen" on page 3-9.)
