Fastening using threaded screws
When drilling holes into plastic dashboards, observe the
following:
– Before starting, check that there is sufficient free space for the drill
exit.
– Ensure that when tightening, the nuts cannot be be forced through the
dashboard (use larger washers or sheet steel plates, if necessary).
u Drill a Ø 5.5 mm hole at the previously marked points.
u Screw tighten the monitor holder using the M 5 x 20 mm threaded
screws.
For the parts required for fastening with threaded screws
see . F 9 to F 11.
Producing the opening for the monitor connection cable
When routing the connection cable through openings
(see . F 12) use, as far as possible, original grommets or other
feedthrough possibilities such as e.g. trim edges, ventilation grids
or dummy switches. If there are no holes available, drill a
Ø 13 mm hole. Check beforehand that there is sufficient
clearance for the drill bit to emerge on the other side.
u Drill a Ø 13 mm hole behind the monitor
u Deburr all drill holes in sheet metal and treat with rust proofing agent.
u Apply grommets to all sharp-edged holes.
u Insert the extension cable into socket "C1" (see . E 8) and the
connection cable into the „Power" socket (see . E 15) on the
monitor rear.
u Route the connection cable and extension cable under the
dashboard.
Fastening the monitor in the monitor holder
Only use the M 5 x 18 mm knurled screws to fit the monitor in the
monitor holder (see . F 15). Longer screws will damage the
monitor.
Fasten the anti-glare visor between the monitor holder and the
monitor.
