ATTENTION! Despite the safe design of the device
and its protective features, and despite the use of
additional elements protecting the operator, there is
still a slight risk of accident or injury when using the
device. Stay alert and use common sense when using
the device.
3. USE GUIDELINES
The device is intended for measuring speed, distance and

the number of revolutions.
The user is liable for any damage resulting from
unintended use of the device.

3.1. DEVICE DESCRIPTION

ATTENTION! This product's view can be found on
the last pages of the operating instructions (p. 29).

3.2. DEVICE USE

3.2.1 BATTERY INSTALLATION

1.
Unscrew the battery cover screws.
2.
Remove the battery cover.
3.
Place the battery in its place, taking into account the
polarity.
4.
Replace the battery cover, secure with screws.
NOTE: If the device display shows low battery and it is
necessary to replace the battery with a new one, proceed in
the same way as above.
3.2.2 MEASUREMENTS
NOTE: When measuring with a laser, make sure that there
is no flashing light source or fluorescent lamp directly near
the target. They may negatively affect measurement results.
NOTE: A reflective film marker should be placed on the
test surface as a reference before laser measurements are
taken.
CAUTION: Measurements are performed in 2 groups:
(I) revolutions and distance in a given time unit (e.g.
revolutions per minute) and (II) revolutions and current
distance.
1. Changing units in measurement groups.
a)
Group I – a unit change is performed sequentially
after a single press of the button [3] according to the
diagram below
b)
Group II – a unit change is performed sequentially
after pressing and holding the button [3] for about 3
sec. according to the diagram below.
2.
Time measurements of revolutions and speed
a)
Non-contact revolutions measurement (laser)
Press the button [3] several times at short
intervals until "RPM" will appear on the display.
Direct the laser lens at the surface to be
measured.
Press the button [4] to release the laser beam
and perform the measurement.
b)
Contact revolutions measurement
Install the adapter [10] on the mounting thread
[2] and then install the tachometer bit [9].
Press the button [3] several times at short
intervals until "RPM" appears on the display.
Place the tip to the surface to be measured.
Press the button [4] to turn the device on and
perform the measurement.

c)
Surface speed measurement
Install the adapter [10] on the mounting thread
and then install the speedometer tip.
Press the button [3] several times at short
intervals until "I/M" (inch/min), "M/M" (metre/
min), "Y/M" (yard/min), "F/M" (feet/min) will
appear on the display.
Place the tip to the surface to be measured.
Press the button [4] to turn the device on and
perform the measurement.
3.
Speed and distance measurements
a)
Non-contact speed measurement (laser)
Press and hold the button [3] for about 3 sec.
until "REV" appears on the display.
Direct the laser lens at the surface to be
measured.
Press the button [4] to release the laser beam
and perform the measurement.
b)
Contact revolutions measurement
Install the adapter [10] on the mounting thread
[2] and then install the tachometer tip [9].
Press and hold the button [3] for about 3 sec.
until "REV" appears on the display.
Put the tip to the surface to be measured.
Press the button [4] to turn the device on and
perform the measurement.
c)
Distance measurement
Install the adapter [10] on the mounting thread
[2] and then install the speedometer tip [8].
Press and hold the button [3] for about 3 sec.
until "M" (metre), "Yd" (yard) or "FT" (foot) will
appear on the display.
Put the tip to the surface to be measured.
Press the button [4] to turn the device on and
perform the measurement.
4.
Saving measurements in the memory of the device
a)
The user can store the measurement results (up to
10 MAX/MIN/AVG measurements).
b)
To store the measurement value in the memory
of the device, press the button [5] during the
measurement.
5.
Call up the stored measurement results
a)
Calling
the
measurements
is
performed
sequentially, after pressing the button [5], as
shown in the diagram below.
b)
Replaying measurements can be accelerated by
pressing and holding the button [5] for about 3 sec.
(as shown in the diagram below) and replaying only
particular subgroups.
c)
Free storage folders are displayed as "—".
d)
When
replaying
measurement
results,
measurement unit and "MAX" (a maximum
value)/"MIN" (a minimum value)/"AVG" (an average
value) will appear on the display.

3.3. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

a)
Wait for the rotating elements to stop.
b)
Use only non-corrosive cleaners to clean the
surface..
c)
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from
moisture and direct exposure to sunlight.
d)
Do not allow water to get inside the device through
vents in the housing of the device.
e)
The device must be regularly inspected to check its
technical efficiency and spot any damage.
f)
Do not leave the battery in the device if it will not
be used for a longer period of time.
g)
Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
h)
Do not use sharp and/or metal objects for cleaning
(e.g. a wire brush or a metal spatula) because they
may damage the surface material of the appliance.
i)
Do not clean the device with an acidic substance,
agents of medical purposes, thinners, fuel, oils or
other chemical substances because it may damage
the device.
j)
It is recommended to use compressed air or
a damp cotton swab to clean the laser lens.
SAFE REMOVAL OF BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
1.5V AA batteries are installed in the devices. Remove
used batteries from the device using the same procedure
by which you installed them. Recycle batteries with the
appropriate organisation or company.
