Items in illustrations in the instructions may differ from
the model being worked on. The illustrations are used
for different instructions and may therefore vary between
engine models. The essential information is correct.

Installing the gear shift actuator
IMPORTANT! The gear shift actuator (1) must
be installed above the boat waterline and angled
downwards at least 5°. (Fig. 1)
1. Place the control cable (A) along the lower
side of the gear shift actuator (1). (Fig. 2)
NOTICE! It is possible to install the control
cable on either side of the gear shift actuator.
This is to facilitate installation of the gear shift
actuator in the boat.
2. Connect the plug (D) to the EVC-unit wiring.
(Fig. 4)
3. Power up the system and perform an auto-
config (see manual Calibration and Settings).
Check the shift actuator movement by enga-
ging "forwards and reverse". Remove power
once the shift actuator function has been en-
sured.
NOTICE! When the actuator is used for the
first time, there can be some noise. This will
change after a wear in period with load at-
tached.
4. Install the control cable (A) with cable clamp
(2), washer (8) and two torque prevailing
screws (3). (Fig 2)

5. There are two slots in the control arm sleeve
(E). Pin (C) must be installed downwards
through the lower groove in the steering arm
sleeve (E). The steering arm sleeve must not
be allowed to rotate when fixing the pin. Make
a counterhold according to Fig. 3.
NOTICE! Cover the upper groove in the steer-
ing arm sleeve with the enclosed self-adhesive
label (7) to prevent dirt from falling down and
impairing or preventing the actuator gear shift
function. (Fig. 3)
6. When the pin has been installed in the lower
groove in the sleeve, lock the position with an
Allen key. (Fig. 3)
7. Screw the threaded section of control cable (B)
into the adapter (5). (Fig 2)
Tighten the nut securely to fix the adapter.
Lock the adapter to the actuator pin (C) with
washer (6) and a split pin (4) (Fig. 4).
NOTICE! Bend ends on split pin after installa-
tion.
8. Make sure the bending radius of the control
cable is not less than 200 mm (Fig. 5). If the
radius is smaller, the control function will be
stiff and there is a risk that it will lock up.
9. Connect the male connector (D) to the EVC
unit cable harness. (Fig. 4)
10. Check that the remote control cable can move
unhindered in tilt, power trim and when turning
the wheel.

Emergency operation

If any problem occurs with the control electronics,
it is possible to shift gears automatically.
1. Pull the split pin (4) out and remove washer
(6). (Fig. 6)
2. Lift adapter (5) off pin (C).
3. Put a screwdriver etc. into the hole in adapter
(5).
4. Move the control cable horizontally.
