APPENDIX C: DIGITAL DATA STREAMING COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
The ICP Monitor can stream data through the USB port using a USB to serial communication.
The serial port settings required to connect a PC to the ICP monitor through a terminal application or other customized serial
program are as follows.
• Speed: 115200
• Data: 8 bit
• Parity: none
• Stop: 1 bit
• Flow Control: none
The communication protocol is unidirectional. The ICP monitor will only output data and no responses shall be sent from the
receiving device (i.e., PC Host should be in a "listen only" mode).
The ICP Monitor automatically detects in which USB port the USB/Serial connection is present. Either USB port may be used based
on user preference. The data stream is always active except when the Data Download menu is open. Steaming will resume as soon as
the Data Download menu is closed.
Data packets are transmitted at various frequencies depending on the data type.
