13.1 Using the Elan PC Software Interface
DO NOT use a laptop computer or similar device with an external
power supply when connected to the Elan.
Take all necessary precautions when moving and walking with
the Elan connected by cable to a laptop computer to avoid
accident or injury.
Note:
Disconnecting the comms cable from the
Elan user
(Software versions 1.0.5 or later)
It is possible to disconnect/reconnect the Elan from
the laptop and comms cable during set up, except
when the calibration sequence is updating the
settings and the update Elan settings dialogue box
appears (See Section 9.5 for the calibration sequence).
Disconnect when the calibration ready rotating
symbol appears, reconnect to update and commence
the next stage.
Only disconnect/reconnect from the phono jack at
the Elan not from the USB. Disconnecting at the USB
will lose the Com port connection requiring a new
log in.
