Checking correct functioning
1. Switch on unit and perform the following checks
according to the test schedule:

19 Cleaning, maintenance
According to 1999/92/EC the workplace and work
equipment has to be maintained with due regard
for safety. The points listed in EN 60079-17 must
be taken into account and performed.
The intervals should be determined by the operating
company in accordance with EN 60079-17 and may
be extended if a sufficient maintenance concept is
used – frequency depending on ambient conditions
and anticipated restrictions. The maintenance
intervals are to be shortened in case of dust or a
corrosive atmosphere.

Danger of electric shock.
● Prior to accessing the connection terminals
disconnect all supply circuits.
● Secure against being switched back on, check
that no voltage is present.
● Earth and connect the EARTH with active parts
which are to be short-circuited.
● Cover or block off neighbouring live parts.
● Attach a clearly visible warning sign.
Ensure that there is no explosive atmosphere
and/or dust layers.
CAUTION
!
Hot motor surfaces may result in skin burns if
touched. Do not touch hot motor surfaces. Wait
until the motor has cooled before undertaking
cleaning and maintenance work.

Danger of injury if there is no protection
against reaching / contact (protective grille) on
the uncovered air inlet/outlet. Fan may only be
operated with protection against reaching in
both sides.
NOTICE: Damage to the unit
Units with pre-installed line feedthrough to the
terminal box may be damaged if the connec-
tion line is pulled or the unit is lifted using the
line. Do not pull connection lines or lift the unit
using the lines.

Cleaning by a qualified person ( Chapter 3)

Regularly clean fan at appropriate intervals with
a damp cloth, especially after long periods out of
service.
Clean fan at shorter intervals if you expect layers

The fan should be regularly checked and main-
tained. In particular, ensure:
● unimpaired flow in the air channel.

● cables are secure in the terminal box.
● potential damage to terminal box, cable
screw-connections, sealing plugs and cables.

During regular safety checks (maintenance interval),
undertake a complete check in accordance with the
test schedules in Chapters 16, 17 and 18.

This involves checking the function of safety compo-
nents, air gap, power consumption, bearing noise,
damage and disproportional vibration (e.g. impeller
imbalance). Remove dirt and foreign particles.
Repairs
Have defective fans repaired or overhauled only by
a certified repair workshop.

21 Disassembly and environmentally-
sound disposal

Félicitations pour votre choix d'un ventilateur MAI-
CO. Cet appareil a été fabriqué selon la directive
ATEX 2014/34/UE et convient aux zones explo-
sibles.
Lisez attentivement le présent mode d'emploi
avant le montage et la première utilisation du
ventilateur et suivez les instructions.
Les avertissements qu'il contient vous mettent en
garde contre les situations dangereuses entraîne-
ront/pourraient entraîner la mort ou de graves bles-
sures (DANGER / AVERTISSEMENT) ou des bles-
sures légères/de moindre importance (PRUDENCE)

3 Qualification du personnel d'installation,
de nettoyage et d'entretien
Le montage, la mise en service, le nettoyage et la
maintenance doivent exclusivement être effectués
par des électriciens qualifiés et agréés dans le
domaine de la protection contre les explosions,
(voir aussi directive 1999/92/CE annexe II 2.8).
Ce sont des personnes qualifiées conformément
à la directive susmentionnée qui disposent aussi
d'une formation d'électricien qualifié. Des dispo-
sitions supplémentaires d'autres lois nationales
doivent être prises en compte.
4 Utilisation conforme
Le ventilateur sert à l'évacuation et à l'insufflation
d'air dans les locaux à usage professionnel (sites de
production, locaux commerciaux, garages, etc.) à
atmosphère explosible, conformément à la directive
1999/92/CE, paragraphe 2, (4), (5).
Le ventilateur répond aux exigences de sécurité
de la directive européenne 2014/34/UE sur les
appareils et systèmes de protection dans les zones
explosibles.
