Cleaning the spark arrester
The spark arrester is not included in the
scope of delivery.

Loosen 3 screws.
Remove exhaust baffle plate.
Loosen 4 screws.
Remove muffler cover.
Loosen screws.
Pull the spark arrester out of the muf-
fler.
Decarbonize the sieve of the spark ar-
rester by means of a brush.
Check sieve for fractures and holes.
Replace damaged spark arrester.
Reinstall the spark arrester and assem-
ble the muffler.
Transport
Allow the engine to cool down for at
least 15 minutes prior to shipping it.
DANGER
Fuel vapours or spilled fuel are flammable.
Keep the engine in a horizontal position
during transport to avoid fuel spills.
WARNING
Risk of personal injury or damage! Mind the
weight of the appliance during transport.
Storage
Remove spark-plug connector.
Change engine oil.
Allow the engine to cool down for at
least 1/2 an hour.
ATTENTION
Water entering the muffler or the air filter
can cause damage to the engine.
Clean exterior surfaces.
Touch up any damaged paint and coat
other areas that may rust with a light
film of oil.
When storing the device for more than
one month, drain the fuel.
Unscrew spark plug.

Pull the starter rope several times to
spread the oil in the engine.
Screw in the spark plug.
Pull the starter rope slowly until a resist-
ance can be felt.
Slowly return the starter rope.
DANGER
Risk of explosion. Do not store the engine
in the vicinity of flames or electrical devices
if there is still fuel in the tank.
WARNING
Risk of personal injury or damage! Consid-
er the weight of the appliance when storing
it.
Note:
– Do not store the engine in places with a
high humidity to protect it from corro-
sion.
– Close the fuel cock as a protection
against leakages even if the tank was
drained.
– Store engine in a horizontal position,
otherwise oil or fuel may leak.
– Cover the engine to protect it from dust.
