 Do not start the engine without the si-
lencer; check, clean and replace, if re-
quired, the silencer at regular intervals.
 Do not use the engine in forest, bushes
or grassy areas without fitting a spark
receiver at the exhaust.
 Do not make any adjustments to the
regulator springs, regulator bars or oth-
er parts that can bring forth an increase
in the engine speed.
 Risk of burns! Do not touch hot silenc-
ers, cylinders or radiator ribs.
 Do not put hands or feet close to mov-
ing or rotating parts.
 Do not touch the ignition cable or the
spark plug while the engine is running.
Warning
 Except for setting jobs, do not run the
engine when the air filter is removed or
there is no cover over the suction sup-
port.
 In case of damage or leaks on the fuel
system, do not use the engine. Check
the fuel system regularly and replace
damaged components.
 The safety instructions in this manual
cannot cover all operating situations.
Make sure you observe all safety in-
structions during maintenance and op-
eration.
Caution
 The radiator ribs and the starter rope
must be free of grass and other dirt to
avoid fires or damages to the engine.
 Only use original Grow parts. Other
parts could damage the engine and
shorten its life span.
 Only use fresh fuel. Old fuel can cause
residue in the carburator and affect the
engine's performance.
 Do not pull on the starter rope while the
engine is running to avoid damage to
the starter.
