Safety information
for band saws
Do not operate this tool near highly
flammable liquids or gases.
Wear protective gloves when handling
the band saw blade or raw materials.
Always wear safety goggles while
working.
Always wear a face mask or dust mask.
Replace worn table inserts.
Never use damaged or deformed saw
bands.
Check the band saw blade carefully
for cracks or other damage before use.
Replace a band saw blade immediate-
ly if it has cracks or other damage.
Only use saw blades recommended
by the manufacturer which conform to
EN 847-1.
Select a suitable band saw blade for
the material to be cut and set a suit-
able speed.
Only use accessory parts which are
recommended in this instruction man-
ual. Using unsuitable accessory parts
can lead to injuries.
Make sure that the band saw blade
is always sharp and clean so that the
noise level is kept to a minimum.
Do not operate the power tool when the
guard protecting the saw blade is open.
Connect the band saws to a dust ex-
traction device when sawing wood.
Remove spanners, sawdust etc. from
the table before switching on the ma-
chine.
Allow the tool to warm up for a while
load-free before you place the work-
piece to be machined on the tool. Pay
attention to vibrations and impact;
these phenomena may indicate a dam-
aged or improperly installed band saw
blade.

Do not cut metal objects such as nails
or screws. Inspect the workpiece for
nails, screws and other foreign mate-
rials and, if necessary, remove them
before starting work.
Keep hands away from the band saw
blade.
Never stand in the cutting direction of
the band saw blade and keep all per-
sons away from this area.
Use the push stick against the rip fence
when cutting straight pieces from small
workpieces.
Attach the rip fence to the lower part
of the table for mitre cuts with a tilted
table.
When cutting round or unevenly
shaped wood, use a suitable holding
device that prevents the workpiece
from twisting.
Lower the saw blade guard down as
close as possible to the workpiece for
all cutting procedures.
Secure long workpieces against tilting
at the end of the cutting operation (e.g.
unwinding stand).
Do not clean the band saw blade
while it is still running.
Never use separating guards for lifting
or transporting.
When transporting the power tool, the
saw blade guard must be in the lowest
position near the table.

Residual risks

There will always be residual risks even
if you operate this power tool according
to the instructions. The following hazards
may occur in connection with the type and
design of this power tool:
a) Eye damage if no suitable eye protec-
tion is worn.
b) Cutting injuries
